Gravity Hall A Map Presented By JSlayer7 DOWNLOAD "GRAVITY HALL" HERE DOWNLOAD "GRAVBALL" GAMETYPE HERE Note: The "Gravball" gametype is required to use with "Gravity Hall". Description: Hey guys. When I heard that Cold Storage was coming out, I was immediately thinking of possible map ideas that I could design in it. But, I didn't just want to create a map where I editted some things, or changed the weapons around. I wanted to create a map that made you feel like the forging that I did was a part of the map. When I realized how difficult it would be to make a decent competitive map on it, I stuck to an idea I had always wanted to do: a Grifball-like map. Remember that everything that I designed with this map is only supposed to RESEMBLE a Grifball-like game, not be identical to Grifball. Both teams start at either end of the playing field. They spawn closely to there plant point, creating captures very similar to Grifball. The bomb spawns directly in between both teams, making the chances of either getting the bomb very equal. The only way to transport to the bomb, however, is to use the gravity lifts, walk along the ramps, or use the jumps next to the bomb access points. Now, there are also man cannons that are involved with play. If you have the bomb and find a direct, open path to the bomb plant point, you can drop into the man cannon to score. It is probably best to play with three people going for the bomb and trying to capture, and leaving one man behind to defend because man cannon entries are very difficult to defend with nobody back. Finally, you will notice that some interlocking/geomerging that I did isn't PERFECT, but you have to realize how difficult it actually was to make this map. Geomerging took forever, and interlocking was very challenging when squeezing in between Cold Storage's small area. Hopefully, this won't be a huge deal... I would say that this is a successful attempt at forging Cold Storage (; It looks like it would be a nice break from regular griffball because instead of just having an open field you actually have map geometry to play with. How easy is it to score? If those mancannons work fairly well; would it be a good idea to turn up the score limit?
So this is suppose to be like Grifball on Cold Storage? Looks really interesting, nice design. Edit: One thing though don't rate your own maps on Bungie.net.
Scoring can be either pretty easy or pretty difficult. If you play strategically, it takes awhile. If you are playing for the first time, scoring is usually quick. The average game is about 6-7 minutes long. EDIT: Also, the man cannons are only a single option of scoring, and aren't overly used because the middle area is usually packed with people waiting to smash you. So, in game, another common way of scoring would be jumping over everyone.
First Things First, the elite in your 13th picture is soooooo BADASS! As for the map, it looks good. Definetly different, as I've never seen Grifball on Cold Storage. Nice work.
Nice. I like the idea of a grifball map and the interlocking and new platforms you added. But is there any downside of a side? For instance...The team 2 spawn looks like and easier spot to def cause its small and there isnt much ways the other team could sneak through...it just might be the veiws of the pics that would make me think this.4/5.keep forging.
Actually, I equalized the spawns. The team 2 spawns are far away from each other, whereas the Team 1 spawns are equidistant from each other. And I don't really feel one side has an advantage over another. Even if it did, the teams switch places every round.
Nice work, got to say I thought cold storage was unforgeable but this is good map. I like the idea and it looks rather nice.
Thanks so much. Cold Storage is deceivingly small and the forge pallet isn't that great, so making the map was pretty challenging.
Very interesting usage of the Cold Storage hall. Five from me for the imaginative thinking! Could be a new sport.
Lol. It's not as simple as Grifball, which may piss people off because that is the beauty of Grifball.
i will be downloading and playing this as soon as i clear up some HD space it is good to see that other creative Grifball map makers are still out there
