Is it just me or has there been a forge rut going around because lately with my friends and I have been having trouble thinking of ideas for maps. It seems that every idea for a map has been made and made well. if you think you have an idea you go and check forgehub and look its been made before. Its quite wierd that lately most of the maps have been made by the new comers and featured maps are less and less. Now we are having new contests and events and other community things but not maps.
I bet in a little while someone will come up with a Map on Cold Storage dealing with switches, so don't worry, it's not Forge Arrmaggedon.
There will always be ideas in Forge. Its just harder to make them a little more individual. ForgeHub is expanding its horizons, with new contests and events. We understand that Forge isn't for everyone, but contests can be. ForgeHub is and always will be about the maps.
speaking of which, do you still want me to show you the teleportal thingy...? that might help inspire you for something else...
This thread really points out an obvious trend but saying it will always be about the maps is a little far fetched to state now when talking about halo's forge. There is only so much to do before something dies out from time or whatever reason. But there isn't any reason to worry about it as of now, it will be around for a while. I feel that this site will always be known as a community brought together by halo 3 forge at it's core. I believe it will head in the direction of finding another game's map editor so Matty speaks the truth with his statement about it always being about the maps.
Far Cry 2. Anyway, I think chuck is right. Originality will not always survive on forge, but the way to expand the life of Forge is to innovate. Find the craziest, most far-fetched, and insane idea, and turn it into a map. Who knows? You may start a trend.
