    This is an addition to the marvel map review thread, but for those who just want their map tested for breaking. With this, i mean getting out of the boundaries of the map. We have gotten out of every map we have tested, and we decided to make a thread like this too.

    It is important that you read everything!

    The usefulness of the map breaking, the possibilities and if you can even get out of the map is rated with greek letters, starting with α (Alpha) as best and ε (Epsilon) as worst.

    Complete list: α - β - γ - δ - ε

    α - Impossible to escape
    β - Possible to escape. Rarely useful or hard to pull off
    γ - Alarming status. decently hard to pull off, the jump is in an uncrowded area or a few routes exists
    δ - Code red. Easy to pull off, in uncrowded area or several routes exists
    ε - Shutdown Imminent. An everyday jump, the extremely simple jump is in a completely uncrowded area or a lot of routes exists



    Consider us a test-burglar, but reversed. You can be in the game watchis us break it, or we can send you a film of us breaking it (if we succeed), but what matters is that this is a good way to fix maps before it is posted, so you don't have to make a version 2. I got out of some featured maps too, like reflex.

    And yes, we know all the possible jumps, like buddy jump, hammer + grenade jump, tripmine jump, plasma jump, spike grenade jump, penguin jump, rocket jump and much much more. So post a link to your map and we will break it and send you a film of it so that you can fix it. Simple as that.

    I will PM the creator of the map when i have looked through is/her map.

    Also, for people worried about me rating a map "breakable" or "unbreakable", of course i will give you a full walkthrough of the breaking process, the results, the effectiveness of the breaking in-game (for the appropriate gametype/custom gametype if there is any) and the propability of success in-game.If no custom gametypes are included, I will always start the bustin' with an FFA breaktest, then i will continue with team breaktest and end with an advanced breaktest with jumps that are risky or takes lot of time.

    Haha, thank you :) i didn't find any thread like this, so i thought why not? it's simpler than testing the map, so if you want to release it quickly.
    I'm at your service. I'll do all the maps i can as fast as i can, since i'm in the review team too. mapbusting usually happens pretty quick though.
    I'll be going on vacation on wednesday, but CA will take over 'til i'm back. (CaptainAmerica)

    Well there is gobbles gobble proofing threrad, but other than that... I think there's nothing else.

    I'd like to help if I can, By the way. My GT is Dthen. Maybe send a fr if you weant help?

    If you know the jumps, i could need a partner, but you can't join the other branch of this team, the review team, since we are kind of full. This is my side-project and i'd be happy for another member :) send me an FR with the text "mapbuster".

    I'm always up for testing in this thread as well, I'm pretty good at all the jumps and good at looking around finding small ways out.
    If you need a partner, or simply have a map you want me to test if you're overrun then let me know.

    i haven't gotten any requests in this thread yet, since it is in the shadow of the map-review, but the more, the better :) CA will take over, you and him will handle possible requests in this thread for now.

    Here is a good idea: Break out of the more popular maps. Give credit and post your results. If this all-out fails then oh well. By the way there is another break-out group gobbles started.

    O_O rip-off :( actually i manages to get out of reflex (the featured one) but before it was released. If he hasn't fix it, i could do that one more time when i get back next week.

    Since I'm going to be making a walk like thing in High Impact, it'd be nice to have someone try and see if they can break through it. I'll send you a message once I've got the wall done.

    Hmm... good idea, but I think you guys should keep in mind that almost any map can get busted out of without invisible barriers, even licensed Halo maps. And with limited stuff, it is hard to completely block. So do all jumps you can do, then rate the map on "breakage". Say if normal jumping, equipment jumping, or anything you can do by yourself won't get you out, but using a buddy will. Well that shouldn't be a big issue, because say if it is meant for FFA? Well no one will buddy up to get one person out of the map. If it is small, with lots of action, even if their are teams, buddy jumpy might take to long, and they will be killed. Stuff like that you should take into account.

    I think this thread was designed to take these factors into account and realises its pretty impossible for a map to be truly unbreakable if someone is determined enough. I think its just designed to asses how far it is breakable, and whether it will actually impact on gameplay, especially in games like oddball where it really matters.
    But the factors you have pointed out are very concise and important, and maybe breakability reviews could have a section detailing which areas actually need addressing for gameplay, and which are just for aesthetic or obsessive purposes.

    I'm taking my time doing it, I'm trying to use as low of an amount of items as I can to block off that back area. The current wall I'm working on only takes 8 double boxes, 4 single boxes, 2 walls, and 2 grav. lifts placed on weapon holders. Also, not only have I worked on the wall, but I made some layout changes (since I needed money). I think the changes will be for the best. I'm sure I will have a nice TGIF tomorrow. =D

    Sweeny todd, of course i take that into account. If the mapmaker says it is ment for FFA, i'll only try jumps aviable without cheating in ffa, such as grenade jumps, normal jumps or equipment jumps. OF course i will also give the propability of getting caught some thoughts. You are right on those points, as i can see myself a buddy jump is useless in team slayer if one player is left in the map. Don't worry, i gave it much thought, i just haven't gotten time to do any mapbustin' since i'm on vacation and the requests aren't really pouring in. Maybe i should add that to the original thread.

    I had thought you guys would have been more creative with Troika's deployable cover, using it you can get out of the map (which is like an all around sniping position) once you get up to the fuel rod cannon.
