Yeah really. Missingo is a little cheap, however it is lvl 0. I think that would go under the category of "Non-Balanced".
After taking a good look at the list and weapons, I was wondering if you're taking into consideration the base speed stat of pokemon that will have the Custom Powerup? Out of those currently listed (from the 7/1 edit, bold indicates those currently with the CP, base speed listed in order on left): 130 Mewtwo 130 Jolteon 110 Gengar 105 Rapidash 100 Tentacruel 100 Voltorb `93 Magmar `91 Pidgeot `90 Pikachu `90 Mr. Mime `80 Venasaur `78 Blastoise `76 Hitmonchan `70 Onix `65 Sandslash `55 Machamp I totally agree with Jolteon having a CP as well, along with Rapidash having a CP (it is a "Fire Horse" pokémon ) However, the other two you have listed with a CP (Pidgeot, and Pikachu) just don't have the same speed as the others, with a base speed stat of 91 and 90 respectively. In fact, Magmar is slightly faster with a base speed stat of 93. That being said, numbers aside, I also agree with Pidgeot having the CP, if nothing more then then to increase speed to improvise flight. Now then, Pikachu is just simply dwarfed speed wise, with four pokémon (five if you include Mr. Mime) with a higher speed. Also, Electrode, the evolved form of Voltorb, has the fastest out of the Johto pokemon, with 140 which runs way ahead (pun intended) of the list. If you replace a Voltorb with Electrode (no change in weapon set needed), then it would practically demand for a CP. To slightly shift away from the CP, lets move onto discussion of the OS. It seems that Onix is the only one with the OS, but other pokémon also can take a pretty strong beating. To roughly show, here's the list (again based off of the 7/1 edit) organized, and showing the combined base Defense, Special Defense*, and HP, along with showing those values in that order. For sake of comparison, I've also added just base Defense plus base Special Defense*. Also, I've bolded the largest and second largest number in each category (excluding Mewtwo). Total~~Def~Sp.Def*~HP~~Def+SpDef** Pokémon 350 = 106 +90 + 154 ~ 244 Mewtwo 264 = 79 +100 + 85 ~ 185 Blastoise 263 = 80 +83 + 100 ~ 183 Venusaur 250 = 60 +60 + 130 ~ 190 Gengar 235 = 65 +60 + 110 ~ 170 Jolteon 235 = 90 +80 + 65 ~~ 145 Machamp 230 = 75 +110 + 45 ~ 155 Sandslash 228 = 83 +75 + 91 ~~ 166 Pidgeot 225 = 35 +160 + 30 ~ 190 Onix 225 = 80 +65 + 80 ~~ 145 Tentacruel 222 = 57 + 100 + 65 ~ 165 Magmar 215 = 65 +70 + 80 ~~ 150 Rapidash 205 = 40 + 65 + 100 ~165 Mr. Mime 164 = 50 + 79 + 35 ~~114 Hitmonchan 155 = 35 + 30 + 90 ~~120 Pikachu 145 = 40 +50 + 55 ~~~105 Voltorb I know that looks at quite a bit of information there, but as shown with this information, you should seriously consider giving an OS to both Blastoise along with Venusaur. They both are second and third in both totals including HP and without, and can both take a good beating. Well, I hope you put these numbers to good use. *The "Special Defense" base stat is part of the former "Special" base from Gen I. The stat was then split between "Special Defense" and "Special Attack". **All information regarding these base stats were pulled from this page on Bulbapedia. Take note that it lists all 493 pokémon.
Thank, very much. That was one of the most informative posts I've seen in a while. Pidgoet, Jolteon and Rapidash will all keep the speed boost, the reason being for Pikachu was to give him quick attack. He may not be the fastest but he's still very fast, although you made an excellent arguement and earned + rep for it, all pokemon with the cutom powerup will stay the same. As for the oversheild, you again, bring up a great arguement. I have seriously taken that under consideration. I was actually planning on making a few healing centres on the map, which will carry the oversheild. So like in the man cannon cave have a little structure down the bottom which will have the oversheild. Again, thank you, very much for your input.
Hm... I definitely like the idea of a pokémon center, but the problem that I can see would have to be that one could just essentially camp the center while all the fighting takes place outside. Maybe you can have it elevated above the playing field, and have a grav lift spawn every thirty seconds, and falling fusion coils spawn every minute above the gravlift, which will limit people going in. Then, you could place the OS directly in front of a mancannon which will launch the player back out onto the playing field, which should prevent people waiting inside of the pokémon center. However, this might tip it into Pidgeot's favor (along with anyone who might have their equipment as the gravlift in a future revision), but due to the grav lift's limited effectiveness (especially on Avalanche with no vehicles), this might actually make it a tad more balanced rather then less. If you're really concerned though, you could nerf Pidgeot a tad by getting rid of the spike grenades, but then, it would notably reduce the effectiveness of that pokémon. Then again, if you have resources aplenty, then if the pokemon center is large enough to feasibly allow for fighting inside, then it might be alright, but it'll become too much of a focal point in the map. If there are multiple pokémon centers though, (especially near the edges, where there would generally be less combat) it might actually aid in the flow of the map. Oh, and before I forget, from the OP, the pokémon are spelled "Pidgeot" and "Onix". I know, I thought it was Onyx for a moment too because it's been a while since I played the game, along with the novel Ghosts of Onyx .
"Pidgoet" was just a spelling mistake, and its Onix thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'll go and edit that now.
Nice feedback. You try looking at weapon powers as numerals in consideration to their SP attack, Attack, etc.
I can do that if you're curious. Would you like to use the Generation IV system (where each individual move is considered a non-damaging, special, or physical attack), or the earlier versions where the type of the attack determines if the attack is physical/special (ex: all fighting moves are considered physical, all water moves are considered special, etc...), or go old school with Gen I (where the special base stat, which controls both special attack and special defense, controls the attack based on the type)? Here's what I dug up thus far. Italics are listed right after for those that qualify for Same Attack Type Bonus (STAB)[1]. Also, attacks that are listed in parenthesis are those of my own suggestion, usually in cases where I couldn't find an attack suggested. Question marks indicate those that no attack was recommended, and I couldn't suggest one in its place. Finally, the bold number listed after is what the attack's "damage" would actually be after factoring in attack (if physical) or special attack (if special), along with STAB, if applicable. : Note- Those currently listed without the calculated damage would have different values based on Gen IV versus Gen's II-III. To avoid confusion, I've unlisted them. I've disregarded Gen I's form of damage calculation, so these values would only be valid in Gen's II-IV. Magmar: - Fire Mauler- ??? BR- ??? For instance, Jolteon uses Thunderbolt, an electric attack with a base power of 90. Since Jolteon is also an electric type, the base power of the attack will now be 135, because 90*1.5=135. [2]Leech Seed is an attack that will take away 1/16th of the foe's total HP per turn, regardless of any defense. Also, the user who used Leech Seed will gain half of that, or 1/32nd of the foe's total HP per turn. [3]These types of attacks hit two to five times in sucession within the same turn. For instance, Double Slap has a base power of 15. If it connects four times, it'll act as if it had a base power of 60. [4]Fire Spin is a move that traps the foe in a ring of fire. Then, the enemy is hit with a base attack of 15 every turn. This may last from two to five turns. [5]These two moves are unique that when calculating damage, the foe(s) defense is halved, giving it an effective base power of double the listed amount. [6]The base power of Seismic Toss is equal to the users level. If the user is a level 41, the base power is 41, etc...
i think mancannons into the area would be more pokemonish because in real pokemon they were thrown into the area by way of pokeball?
Bleet Tameheart, you are very helpful. I've no problem allowing you to give me some help on the map. I'll update all of the weapons and what they represent later.
There we go. I just finished what I could on the list. If you let me know if you're going to work with Gen I, Gens II-III, or Gen IV damage, and I'll update the list accordingly (Right now it's calculated with respect for all except Gen I). Also, if you add the attacks that I couldn't find, or any changes you would like to make, and I'll add those and calculate those as well.
Wow, this thread's been revived. I havent touched it in a couple weeks. I'm working on different projects atm. So dont expect this any time soon. Chances are it wont work out too well. Like most classes maps.
