There is a new regulation for the police that prohibits them from going over the speed limit; even to chase somebody on the run.

Now this has got to be the biggest mistake in my eyes, I would like to see everyones' opinion on this.

I guess it's a good thing for thiefs as they can get away faster. But I wouldn't be surprised if cops started speeding again.

All in all I'm not that bothered about it, but I do think it's a bit random.

I think this nation is getting more and more controlled by politics and the government as the time goes by.

Like back in the day students got paddled for doing something wrong; now today it is illegal but school's cannot control their students.

Now with this regulation, there are going to be more criminals that can get away.

And all of this is because of the government.

Bureaucracy will be the end of us all.

Actually I do not believe this...

    Present a source for validity.

Proof? I see none. Why would they do this? Today I saw a cop going over the speed limit with lights on today anyway.

    1) This law has been in effect for a while.

    2) I'm sure there is a loophole in the rules that allows them to do it anyways. Police are above the law in almost all circumstances. I'm sure many of you will dispute this, but I'm pretty sure 95% of you don't have first-hand experience.

    3) The reason this new regulation was imposed was because high speed chases lead to high speed crashes, innocent motorists getting caught up in a chase and getting injured, complete ****ing chaos along the highway.

No matter how fast their car is, criminals cannot outrun the radar, the radio, the helicopters. All they have to do is keep a distant tail on someone and keep radioing their location, and roadblocks will be set up, and the criminal will be arrested without risking as much harm to other innocent motorists.

Italian police cars are actually these....
Law enforcement in Italy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Im pretty no one can escape the Italians.
As for our dumb law, it equals fail. Seriuosly? cmon You can hear the sirens coming from a mile away. Why should they stay under the speed limit when chasing a criminal who poses more a threat then a speeding cop car?

The cops where I live have supercharged v8 police cars. Some have 2007 Ford Mustangs. I don't know what they have under the hood (haven't asked yet) but they are f***ing awesome!

To Project and all the doubt this, sorry I cannot present you with cited sources; I looked for sources before I posted this but could not find any

I learned this on the news in my home town in Arizona, and all of the people I know in Arkansas.

Oh and Nitrous in Arkansas they have Hemi Chargers for police cars. Talk about awesome.

In other words, you heard it through the grapevine. The grapevine is not a credible source. People have a way of leaving out key details when they spread things around like this. Maybe cops aren't allowed to speed unless they have their lights and sirens on. Maybe they aren't allowed to speed during certain hours of the day that have traffic congestion. I'm sure there are details that you're missing.

But I do know that there is a device now that can shoot a magnetic homing beacon at a car so that police do not have to follow the car.

Also, this isn't much of a debate. It's more like a rumor for us to discuss.

Then I assume I broke the rules of the Debate forum hm?

Lock this if you have to.

Im sorry I just thought this would be a convincing argument.
