Do violent video games make violent kids? Jack thompson is the spear head against violent video games but is he right about video games being bad for children? Here are some video to he you with info. I personally think that it really comes down to the parents who need to teach there kids about violence and the parents need to use the Ratings system other wise what is the point of having it. (sorry most of the videos are one view i just could not find any news show that said they were not violent)

YouTube - Jack Thompson on Fox News

YouTube - Jack Thompson continues his "crusade" after VT shooting

YouTube - Jack Thompson v. Paul Levinson on videogames and violence

YouTube - Jack Thompson jumping to CounterStrike Conclusion

YouTube - Violent Games Is NOT the Root of Evil!

of course not. i wonder how many of these anti video game people have actually played a game. just because one psycopath kills someone and happens to play videogames dosn't mean videogames make you violent.

Jack thompson claims that halo 3 was used to train terrorists to assasinate a major political leader, since when has halo ever been realistic enough to teach someone how to assassinate someone???

OMG!!! not this crap. I have played video games since i was four im 13 ALL of which were incredibly violent where am I now??? hanging my 4.0 badge on my wall next to a picture of my autistic self in a hoodie. I have been in 1 one fight and the kid was a real ass he kind of deserved it (being perfect in all your teachers eyes can get you out of a suspension EASILY) so no video games don't make violent kids video games mixed with BAD PARENTING!!!! makes violent kids infact just bad parenting in general makes violent kids.
I currently own every hot game out there halo 3 GTA4 cod4 (whats up with all the fours???) GOW the list goes on so no bad parenting makes violent children not video games.

OK.. the majority of this post is very loosely based, but its just my opinion.

I ****ing get so ****ed off whenever I see/hear this! sorry for swearing but its really how I feel. Its bullshit!

Increase in youth violence has absolutely nothing to do with ****ing video games!

    GANGSTER MUSIC

lol I really feel that the whole gangster fashion is to blame. The kids are worshipping these "really super duper cool role models"

with songs like "yo yo yo im a really cool gangster, I stab random people in the face for no reason! yo yo I shout fools for fun!"

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SOWF6eIVqqIwatch at 2:45 wtf is that?!

None of these kids play video games or anything, unless they stole them or something.. which they wouldnt have learnt from video games cuz they never played them

Its just the whole gangster attitude i.e its really cool to tag and be in gangs and get in fights and kill mothafuckazz and **** bro.

People know the difference between video games and real life, although if the kid playing the game has a mental disorder or something, might find it hard to distinguish.. but still probably not.

"Doomed to be a killa since I came out the nut sack" See! people are obviously born killers, according to the Niggaz With Attitude
people trying to be like that.

here is one of those people

I think that the influence of violent games is a factor in violdent behavior. That said, I think it only becomes in an influence based on how the child is raised.

Yes, because we know that there was no violence before video games.
    It's a load of ****,
"Oh no, It's those kids and there automobiles!"
"Rock and Roll is the devil's music"
    "Video games cause homicidal behavior"
Every time some big youth thing comes around, people blame it for everything.

There are various reason people become violent, you can't just pinpoint one. However, you have a very good point and you're not far off the mark.

Visit your local train station. Dosn't matter what country you from your results will be very similiar. That's what makes youth violent.
When kids start idolising these 'drop-outs', things start to go bad...

I agree to disagree with you (I think that's correct).

Religion creates violence. You cannot disagree with that.
