I figured that the this argument would go back to U.S. Cold War support for dictators, I just didn't know when. Yeah, we kind of screwed that up, I'll admit that. But that won't help us now. A suicide bomber isn't going to stop from pushing that button because we say sorry-for-supporting-a-ruthless-dictator-thirty-years-ago. Part of the reason it has reached the level it has is from another reason the article said: envy. The U.S. can't help that at any point in time-whether it was 30 years ago or today.
If the US is attacked, action is really the only way to go.

edit: I think it might be better if a new thread was started on this, because this really has nothing to do with the topic of who is the best candidate.

well back on topic. There are certainly no Regan's or FDR's this year, but as far as the viable two that are left go (Hillary is done, just admit it) I have to go with Mccain.

Why? becuase, and you can bet this will come out after the primaries, Obama is not the "anti-cooperation" non taking bribes or donations from big companies "new-age-y" guy that he campaigns to be. In fact last month he took more donations from oil company CEOs than any other candidate. (see here and here for a taste) The man is a good polotician in some senses (the lieing and hiding the truth part, but in the nobler sense (the leading a country as best as he can part) he lacks the experiance, and has shown that ignorance quite often. For instance if you take his energy and enviroment policies, he promises to raise 150 billion dolars to invest in renewable energys over 10 years, sounds great right? He also promises to lower gas prices, and the two dont work together.

It goes this way. Obama taxes Oil companies to riase the 150 billion (thats how he says he's ganna do it) the oil companies pas that tax onto the consumer, we pay more for gas. Obama only real political strategies are to "hope" that the world "changes".

As far as Mccain...well I dont support his immagration policies, but he seems like the only one with the expeiance and drive to viably end the war in Iraq. Pulling out wont solve the problem (See Sept 11.) not that Obama really has the power to pull all of the troops out (See Vietnam police force). So ima go with the proven one, instead of lieing one.

    Whew that was alot.

That pretty much sums up what I was thinking, but I didn't really know how to word it. Thank you. McCain is the lesser of two evils really. Sad that I have to say that, but its true.

Just to give some of you a look on who's leading in what state, Click Here

EDIT: I have no side for this debate yet, because both are still holding valuable information about themselves that we have not looked into yet. Both nominees have good policies, and bad policies. Im just worried about the economy, equal rights, and the environment. Not to mention the "war on Terror". Whichever one of the two nominees has a closer plan to what I desire for the U.S.A, has my support.

Most of Obama's money comes from online donations. I myslef have donated to Barack via internet websites set up by Obama-supporting communities. And about him being a *****, going to war with people on a whim is obviously a bad idea, and the bush administration has proved that well. Obama isn't a *****, america as a whole are pussies. After 9/11, we should have A-bombed Iraq. Who gives a **** if Iraqi women and children died? our women and children died, **** that. Actually, modern war is all about who is the bigger *****. Iraq says, 'ok, lets kill american civilians in a surprise attack.' then america says, 'ok, lets go fight a war agaisnt guerilla pussies.' the only way an American president wouldn't be a ***** would be A-bombing Iraq, give them what they give us.

Honestly, I could care less. I plan on not living here in America for much longer anyway. oh, and you might not want to ask which party I belong to, because I am a Communist

my point was that much of his donations have come from oil executives. It is illegal to take money directly from any cooperation. That is why they "donate" money to them instead.

Just as a side note for those of you who are planning to vote for Obama, you should really be looking at who his Vice President will be and what his/her plans are.

With all the racists folks in the states, it's almost a certainty that the first black president is gonna get his ass shot.

I have to say, being from Illinois myself, I would never trust a politician from here. And please don't say Abraham Lincoln, because that is ridiculous. Illinois is known for corrupt politicians, and no matter how much you may think that he isn't. He would kindly take thousands of dollars from anyone that gave it to him.
I am personally supporting John McCain. I am a Republican myself, and even though he does have a more liberal point of view than I would like, he's still very qualified. He's a good person, and I always think putting a president that was previously in the armed forces is a good idea. We cannot doubt his patriotism. It's open for debate though.

I'm really not sure. It's awesome that we have two awesome candidates, we really can't go wrong in my opinion.

Now that I think of it, I have to say that it doesn't matter who wins. It matters who they choose to be alongside them. A great cabinet makes the President. If you surround yourself with good people then you know exactly what you're going to need to do as President, making the hardships easier. I do not believe that Barack Obama will have enough experience to understand who he needs alongside him. Obama just doesn't have enough experience period. People exclaim that he is the best for President, yet he has next to no experience, all he does is campaign. He was actually only working as a Senator for I think 68 days... but I'm not exactly quite sure of that. The rest of his time he spent campaigning for President. Is that really the kind of person we want?

Now onto McCain. McCain is a good contestant for President because of his age. Sure many are worried about a death in office. So his Vice President is going to have to be a really good choice. I think he has experience with a lot of people and knows the ropes, he could probably get a really good Cabinent around him, making him an unstoppable force. Now more than ever we need a foreign affairs President, and that's what he can do. McCain gives us an honest interpretation on how long we should be in Iraq. Even though many of us don't like it, sometimes we just need to be there for others. It takes a lot to be a repected nation. Thank you for listening to my input (if you did read this).

I just lost all respect for Obama, right as you said that. Now she's going to try and figure out if she kills enough people will she be President? Haha, just kidding. I still think that was an unwise choice of him, because there are people that really don't like Hilary.
