For centuries it has plagued man: Are we alone in the universe? Or is there sentinel life beyond Earth? In my opinion, I feel that it would be seemingly stupid to think that we are alone. It has been shown that the universe extends for billions and trillions and whatever high number you can think of lightyears beyond us. So in all this vast space, why are we the only small planet with life? It doesn't make sense to me to think so. Over the years many have claimed to see "UFO's" and other space objects. I myself think I once saw a UFO in the sky over my house. It was basically a large circular object dangling in the air high up in the sky and when I turned to tell my mom it was gone. I don't know what it was, but I thought it was a UFO. There was the Roswell Incident of 1947 and the lights seen in Texas and so many other incidents. So anyway, what is your guys takes on this all? Is there life out there? And do you think it's friendly?
I'm of the belief that the government has found **** and hides it from the general public. But are we alone? The answer is no. I don't think it's reasonable to even suggest that nowhere else in the universe is there sentient, spacefaring life. I mean, it's the universe. It's like... infinity. But the chances of them discovering us are probably pretty slim. They are out there somewhere though.
Yea I totally agree. No way in hell that much space and no other life. And as for the Govt, I say we all get together, get some guns and break into Area 51!!! EDIT: Wiggumz, ok, but you didn't say so in your OP.
Why? you arent debating. You are just giving your ideas with no support. I have not seen an UFOs or any of that stuff, but I dont believe that we are alone. The Universe stretches out trillions of years away, so saying that there's no chance of their being other intelligent life forms is stupid. Has anyone seen that "most important image ever taken" vid, that really emphasizes my point. Your religion may believe we're alone, but do you? Edit: People, dont forget to remove your sig, I wont give you -rep(like some douchebag) but could you fix it, it just makes the debates a little more serious.
You would have to be naive to think that we are alone. My theory: There are universes inside universes that are inside universes. There are A LOT more species of life in this place and we just have to find a way to find them. I believe most would be hostile in self defense, but the possibilities of reaction and interaction are endless. There is no way to really tell, but to see with your own eyes. Meh. I could've done better on my theory but w/e.
Your topic title is an entirely different question than what your post is composed of. I do not think that we are alone here on earth, as God gave us both each other and his presence to be with. As for extraterrestrial life, though, anything is possible. I'll edit in a video of "the most important picture ever taken." YouTube - The Hubble Deep Field: The Most Important Image Ever Taken
Dom it is revelant. I'm not talking about each other. Obviously there are other animals on earth srsly.
I'll search for it now. Okay found it - http://www.forgehub.com/forum/videos/10813-most-important-image-ever-taken.html
I agree. I honestly can't give you clear facts on why I think so, I just don't believe there is any form of life outside of this universe. And about Area 51, I've seen conspiracy shows on them about UFOs. There is an Area 51, no matter how much the government tries to deny it, and it's a military experiment site. They specialize in aircraft, so of course there's unidentified aircraft, not aliens. Residents near Area 51 have recorded seeing "triangle shaped aircraft" floating above them, but at night if you look up towards a plane, you will see three lights that form a triangle. So Area 51 is real, but IMO, aliens are not. There's proof that the base is creating a stealth plane called the Aurora that can fly at Mach 12(twelve times the speed of sound)
I believe that there is life apart from us (here on earth) somewhere, but why are aliens always depicted as extremely advanced? surely we aren't the youngest lifeform out there...
I think its kinda dumb to assume they'd all be hostile... Then again, if they have been watching us, i wouldn't blame them. But if we find them on our own, i dont see why they would have a reason to be hostile.
IMO we are not alone because come on, the universe is huge and IMO it never ends upon its size. i find it pretty hard to believe that earth is the only planet to contain living life forms. also ivory, i wouldn't be surprised if there is a younger life forms than humans.
You bring up a good point snack, I have wondered this. Why are they so advanced? I think that is the act of the human mind. Since we don't know, we usually imagine the worst possible thing. But you're right, for all we know they could be like cavemen. In which case we'd never know. I guess thats another way you could think of it. By imagining them with highly advanced technology, it gives a way to say how they'd be arriving and being discovered on Earth.
Im not going to go into the fact that half the stuff possibly in area 51 is a rumor, but c'mon, most of what you hear on the news, about intelligent alien life forms, is completely fabricated just to keep your mind off of other, more important issues at hand. But who is anyone to claim that they know that there is, or is not sentient life in other locations in the universe. It is completely an issue based on beliefs, theories, and pure opinion. At the current era of human knowledge, the universe is so expansive, that you can't even fathom the pure size of it. That obviously is the point where most people then believe that there is other life out there, waiting to meet us, or totally annihilate us. The truth is, we will never truly know, until we stare directly into the eyes of an extraterrestrial being.
true, but if aliens(I hate using that word, whenever I say it just puts a picture in my head of a stereotypical depiction of an alien) were to land here, what do you think our first thing we'd do? We'd cut them up and examine them, not try and make some kind of communication.
Yes. Unfortunately you are probably right. Hopefully they would do some recon first, and if they do decide to risk landing they would probably be smart enough to NOT land in the united states.
