The American goverment and citizens are ran by a single figurehead known as the "president" or "Commander in Chief". This spokes person/figurehead of the country is elected though a democratic system. The democratic system involves the majority of the United States' citizens voting for whom they think should run their country. This year is the end of our current president's George W. Bush two consecutive 4 year terms. As there will be a need for a new president we have come to a majority decision of who the democratin and republican canidates are. These canidates are Republican John McCain and democratic Barack Obama. This is the official thread where we discuss who deserves and will act accordingly as the Commander in Chief.

John McCain seems good with all of his experiance but it seems to me like he would end up being like George Bush. Barack Obama is the sure-fire win for the Presidental Election '08, but I'm being skeptical that he will get assassinated...
I liked Mike Gravel because he throws rocks in lakes. Also, his take on every issue was spot-on in my opinion. But he never was taken seriously. Then I liked Dennis Kucinich. He was also very good on all the issues. But he didn't get nominated, so he's out. So I'm voting for Barack Obama. He'll do a great job. The issue that I'm most concerned with is that corporations are running the country. The only thing we have to fight them is government regulation of business. Obama might not make everything perfect but I'm convinced McCain will keep things the way they are if not make them worse.
Do you honestly think he's not being funded by lobbyiests? He's just better at hiding it. No one gets the presidency without major financial backing mate. He's just better at hiding it than others. Also he's a *****. If someone were to attack the states again he'd sit back and try to ind out what thier motivation for the attack was and try to make them feel better. **** that. Kill the ****ers. If they leave us alone then they can do whatever the **** they want. I don't care. But if they kill my countrymen in a senseless and arrogant attack, then they should all burn. Same with my personal life mate. I don't care if someone hates me, but if they act on that hate they will receive in kind.
That's a very simplistic, narrow-minded point of view. Here's a good artcle that can explain things much better than I can. Basically, my point, which has been moved around a bit, is that trying to understand the "other side" is always the right thing to do.
