Hey, I have no delusions about my skills with the Forge. I've seen things on this site that just blow my mind. I'm definitely a novice at this stuff and it wouldn't bother me at all if someone took my map and polished the heck out of it to improve the overall aesthetic value. I actually think it'd be interesting to see what some of these "Forge masters" could come up with, using this map as a starting point.
fyi, some of the pics arent working, but there are enough there. For what i see its a really creative concept. How often does the volcano explode?
First, to answer your question: The volcano explodes fairly regularly, but it's somewhat random in terms of the strength of those explosions. In other words, the explosions happen early and often and some are bigger than others. Second, about the pictures: Which pics aren't working? Someone else mentioned this too, but as far as I can tell all 6 are working just fine. I'll gladly attempt to fix any pics that are not working, but on my screen everything seems to be ok.
Sorry about the double post here, but I actually just wanted to call attention to another volcano-themed map I saw recently, "Mt. Kilamanjaro". It's very well designed and I thought some of you who have been enjoying my volcano might be interested. For one thing, it's round and not square, which it seems some people are very picky about (see previous comments), and it's interlocked, so it's pretty smooth.
Thanks. Glad to see that people are digging the Volcano King of the Hill. I'm actually working on a couple other new KoTH maps right now. One involves a "treehouse" that you need to get up into and control, and another has a hill that explodes every 20 seconds. Once I get them polished up and see how they play in testing, I'll post them.
Wow. 100 downloads! I know many other maps on ForgeHub are in the thousands, but 100 downloads is more than I thought I'd ever get when I made this map. I guess that just goes to show what a great outlet for map feedback ForgeHub is. I'm glad I was told to check this site out. Totally worth it.
