ZOMG! So yesterday I might have accidentally left my XBox on for... possibly, 13 straight hours. Just maybe. Yet then I went and played with my friends on it for an hour and it was fine. Turned it off, left and came back 5 hours later to play and it works fine still. Then, about 10 minutes into playing GTA, and in the middle of a lap dance (XD) the game freezes and says disc is unreadable, and shuts off. This has happened so I wasn't too freaked, until I turned off my Box and then started it up. Began fine, then I realized that it wasnt leaving the start up screen, you know the one with the big XBox Logo before the dashboard. It just stayed on that. Turned off the XBox, the screen was imprinted on mah TV. Started to freak out. So I turned it back on, same thing. Now I got an idea. With it off, pressed the open Game slot and the disc came out. Picked it up and closed the tray when the Rings appeared and began flashing. However, at first there were three rings, but then there was four so my friends said that that was probably overheating but it also had RRoD so I'm not sure what to do. I've been letting it cool down but not sure if it was overheated or not... any help?

    Easy solution

There is a setting in the xbox dashboard where you can set your box to shut of after a selcted amount of inactivity similar to a computer. I think I have mine set at 3 hours. Hope this helps in the future. The cooling fan sold by xbox will ensure that the xbox never overheats. I had to send back two boxes because of RROD. I bought the fan for my thrid box and haven't had a problem since.

I've gotten the 1 Ring Thousands of Times because y intercooler always traps with dust.
I've also gotten the Rrod a few times too, but it always works fine if I restart it.

You'll be fine Ricky, or so I hope.

Welcome to the club. But this is probally do to overheating.Though like kaya said overheating is 2 rings.4 rings is hardwatre failure (same as 3).If you got RRoD call 1800-4-MY-XBOX.Then the rest from there is saddening =(.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me, Try it again after just giving a cool down period, if it's not working then, try a couple different things like check if it works on a different TV ( that worked for me), make sure you didn't accidently set it on HD for non HDTV, try with a different game, or anything like that, it might just be some strange other problem.
