No they definitely did. After the fiasco that was dropping it from Halo 5 they weren't about to continue down that path. I would just like to see it come to Halo 5 and added to the MCC even if it was just the multiplayer portion of the title.
Copied from NLD At this point it’s safe to assume that I won’t be making any new maps for H5, and Just for you guys, I’m gonna make all of my working files public. Every map will be labeled with FP (forge project), followed by a number as I release them. So for example, “Legacy FP1” should now be visible. Certain people will have seen a few of these maps, but some will be entirely new. Oh, and feel free to take it and finish it/use it. That goes for anyone. I’ll explain any of the files too, why they were meant to be etc. Huh... It felt odd to type that. Come infinite, Halo 5 will have occupied a little less than a quarter of my life, and the majority of my adult life. I was an entirely different person 5 years ago, but at the same time, it feels like yesterday we were playing the beta. A lot has happened, I’ve met great people, both online and in person, and learned a thing or two. Someday, when I have a PC again, I’d like to make an ode to H5, a documentary of sorts, titled “The best worst game ever made” or something like that, a title that likely gives you a hint as to how I think about the game. Objectively, yeah, it sucked, although *ahem* subjectively, as a person, it was a great 5 years, and I’m... grateful? I’ll definitely forge in the next game, although I’ll never be as active as I once was. Funny that, as soon as I become tolerable I’ll have stopped posting.
Nothing at all, purely tried to compete in the 2v2 contest and got rekted so hes just salty. I think you and xandrtith are the perfect match for friendly competition, your both on a similar level when it comes to map design, I cant wait too see what yall make in infinite!
Says the coward who withdrew his map out of fear the judges wouldn't understand his maps and brings up the contest more than anyone I know trying to instigate salty conversations because he doesn't know what to do with himself. lololol @Soldat Du Christ there is nothing wrong with competition or competing in design. But unless there are clear parameters that can be judged as absolutes it will just be a **** show because there is no good basis for judgement and therefore no integrity in the competition and it comes down to how well you promote and how well you are perceived as a person. If you consider that anybody who judges a contest and I mean anybody will enact a double standard naturally as we don't see the all the inherit flaws and strengths in our own creations but we are able to see these exact flaws and strengths in a similar creation that is not our own. This becomes an issue when rule sets are vague and don't have a well structured template of absolutes. Because the designer who isn't an insider who knows the judges well, will have to go off the judges own work to see what it is the judge might look for in the map. If the judge is unable to see all the flaws and strengths of their own design or properly define if it is a strength or a weakness the contestant can easily misjudge what is needed to accomplish their goal of winning or placing in a contest. So basically, competitions aren't bad but the current standard in these parts is absolutely a joke.
Sweaty response, let the salt flow. This is basically how I view many members of the community. (apply musical genre to the goals of an FPS map) Believes Heavy Metal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_metal_music) to be the ultimate form of musical expression/genres. Considers all other musical genres that aren't heavy metal and don't align with the musical principals of heavy metal to be inherently flawed. Judges all other musical artists goals and musical works through this self asserted standard. Ascends to a new plane of existence.
