I want to share my content with you. For the last four years, I've been making maps in Halo 5 that were based upon maps I had done in the past. I eventually wasn't happy with them, and attempted to make what I thought were improvements on their layouts. I failed, and in a fit of depression, deleted them. With the help and support of a bunch of Halo fans, I was able to make brand new maps for people to play on. Before I show my maps, I want to thank the following: Sgt x Slaphead Box Knows/ Box Rippin Yeti For Hire Certified Champ MultiLockOn xXandrith SaltyKoalaBear/For Chub purely fat Xzamples Cursed Lemon Hard VVay and yes, even HeX Reapers I hope you enjoy my 2v2 maps. Currently making a souls like map that has a useable menu for equipping items, leveling, and fast travel. The lanterns function as "bonfires". You can access the menu, heal, and set your respawn point at these lanterns. I also set up a script that allows you to regain your souls by collecting them where you last died. If you fail to collect it before you die again, the collection point despawns and you lose the souls you had permanently. Souls can be used for leveling. You can level your strength, defense, and magic. Also as you level your strength/magic your overall damage is increased as well. Certain weapons will require certain levels to equip. You will be able to find weapons throughout the map but you will be unable to equip them unless you have the required level. You can only equip weapons at the lanterns and you may only equip one melee and one ranged, or two ranged. This is because the menu requires a weapon that can shoot the invisible targets. There will of course be enemies. But this time around I have made them able to rotate and move with you so they don't just stare off into the same direction. They also can't hurt you unless you are in front of them. They will also have different health levels so they don't just die off of one hit. I also intend to add invasions from other players who join your game. They will only be able to invade you once you are in certain zones. Once invaded all players will have the same stats so it's a fair fight. The only difference would be weapons of choice. Also there is no healing, you must visit a lantern or find heals throughout the map.
So I popped into the MCC all excited like looking forward to see how many improvements to Reach there has been, and how my old maps might look in Forge, and with talks of improving Reaches file share I might (fingers crossed) be able to take screenshots and set them up as thumbnails like I did in Halo 5. Ect . . .ect . . . New loading screen in MCC - sweet New darker background images - nice Layout tweaking - looks good Maps loaded over - Phew!! Now to load up and check out my Reach Forge maps. Umm, where are my Reach Forge maps? Uuuuuu, where . . . Ooohh, they're server side. Gotcha. I'll just download them. Sooo, hmm, just one file at a time? That's a bit shortsighted, but whatever. What, I've run out of space to download maps? Why the hell would there be a local file limit and what the hell is it? 50!!! WTF!? But I've downloaded only a dozen maps. So now this is where I am at, with a physical limit of 50 local maps and from what I can tell is for the entire MCC. You can't brag about how there are 6.6 million maps for the game and then give people only 50 slots to download them. I mean why the hell would there even be a limit, it makes no sense. In 1999 I could download an unlimited number of maps for UT or Quake but here cusping on 2020 I have a file limit of . . . 50!? For 4 titles? Hell I have over 100 files in my stock 2010 Reach, so what's the holdup. Is there something I'm missing? Has there been word that this was a temporary issue? So far I'm pissed, and the good will created by bringing this to the MCC has either disappeared or is on hold.
How? Oh, nevermind. I guess you were talking about the Marathon symbol. Thought u were saying something else.
