Tbh I like it when a community is a bit toxic. It makes you more emotionally invested. Like, I don't understand wanting a community "Utopia" where everyone is supportive and positive. That stuff is obviously great and is needed at times, but how are we able to progress as people and designers if there is no one to tell us, "No." Because without any opposition, what is the point?
It is also fun and interesting. Drama is interesting and I always find it funny when people say they hate it. Without drama a huge chunk of entertainment would be gone.
"so what do you think is the best map" me: Dont say dust 2, dont say dust2, dont you dare... "ummm dust, or dust 2"
****ing nuketown I wouldve been fine with something like Showdown if he went with a simple map, but ****ing nuketown...
These MW maps are an absolute nightmare for me. Im thinking I'm just going to skip this game. The level of frustration that could come from a game and maps like this just isnt worth it to me as I get older.
Without any opposition, I wouldn't have been prompted to think through (and partially realize) my previously vague ideas on the connection between Gods design and our designs So, essentially, you're doing God's work @xzamplez But, we could be where we are now without all of the insults that came with it, and I wish it went down like that. It's one thing to refute, and it's another to make a post like saltys'
I don’t think anyone is hoping for a utopia. And definitely no one is hoping for a place where nobody tells them no. There can be discussion and debate and opposition without calling each other satan’s cat’s asshole. A small sliver of a community like a bunch of forge nerds is already by default super invested, leave the kinks for behind closed doors.
Being critical of a man's work is one thing, being a mean, douchy **** for no reason is a whole other story.
Good thing COD is still 3 lanes and Halo Infinite lost its creative director mid-development! Things are looking UP !!
