Was forge not working for y'all today? I was working on Hot Zone and servers ****ed up. I couldn't save my last progress and couldn't get back on the map to redo my progress either. Not sure if it was just on my end or if it was a problem with halo 5 altogether today.
I now have screenshots of my first forge map after my 8 year hiatus from consoles. It ain't anything pretty but I really think the layout is solid (see above). It's now ready for testing for slayer - I'll get around to setting up objectives one day when I can be bothered. I'm away on holiday for the next couple of weeks so it'll be a while before I actually get to test it. If anyone is keen to have a look though, it's in my fileshare (CSJ Cam) under the name Power Surge - I'm not sure how to link to it, I can't find it on halowaypoint or anywhere else so I'm a bit confused about that. After this map, I think I'm going to start on an asymmetrical map. I naturally gravitate towards making symmetrical maps which can be a bit bland so I want to break out of my comfort zone a bit. I was planning to buy H5 once I've had my fun with classic Halo so that I could learn the gameplay and start making forge maps on it, but from reading the last couple of pages, it sounds like the community is pretty much dead so I guess there's not really much point.
@CSJ Cam Halo 5 forge is so much more advanced than the previous iterations that if you can get it cheap, it might be worth getting just you so can become familiar with it so you can hit the ground running when Infinite launches.
at least trinity had some air time, i built sj well after the h2a scene for a contest, spent months on it balencing it for flag gameplay and then that was it... Never even got to play it
Anyone have an answer to this? I've not been able to figure out how to upload files to a secondary account either.
I need help refining a map I made on the PC Halo 5 forge. Anyone Wanna help out? Insurrection It's a medium sized map, a natural environment with an mining outpost built into it which was used by insurrectionists as a command post due to its hidden nature. It has walls which you can enter or walk on, buildings, underground areas and a working door. It is also asymetrical in both layout and height. Crappy photo I know... It is my first time using forge to create and actual map and it is also the first time that I have used forge (or played Halo) since 2012 so I am VERY rusty and trying to teach myself the new Halo 5 forge features. Keep me updated, if you don't mind! I've worked on a couple portal maps years ago. Hammer felt a bit dated to me, even back then, I'm curious if it's become any less primitive.
you should flex your hammer muscles in that case, you can always find someone else to finish the art in exchange for half credit. Thats what i plan on doing
designing for cs deffuse has been enjoyable, having to think in different ways to compensate for alot of the games problems. The community maps are nearly all remakes of dust 2, my map is going to blow the competition out of the water like usual
