Here are some early screenshots of red and blue base on Apprehension, more screenshots of the rest of the map will be coming soon! Apprehension consists of a massive canyon, with a waterfall and river in the middle. Red and Blue bases are carved into the cliffs, and are connected through a long network of tunnels inside the cliffs with a spire in between them. Vegation will be a mix of tidal and alien. The majority of the map is completed now but I still need to add cover, spawning, weapons, vehicles, more vegetation, as well as update lighting, and cinematics. If all goes as planned, it will be ready for testing in a few weeks.
Thought I would post these on behalf of Primordial since they're freaking awesome. We shared them on twitter but I'll share here just in case anyone else missed that. All created using Forge without any photo manipulation or enhancing.
It went to **** pretty quick in season 2. My wife and I watched one episode last night and decided screw it.
After 8 years without a console, I grabbed myself an xbox and Halo MCC a couple days ago. I've had the following map design in my head for probably about 10 years (indeed that is how old this preview is) - I wasn't able to make it in Halo 3 because I never did master all the techniques, I did make it in Reach but never got past the testing stage before I lost my xbox. Finally, I am able to bring this design to life. For context, each square represents a 2x2 block. I've started making this in H2A - I think it would suit H3 or Reach best gameplay wise but obviously that's not possible with MCC forge. Since jumping into forge I've made some changes to the above design, namely turning the outer elbows into courtyards, adding a few elevation changes, and generally turning a lot of walkways into jumps instead - all in the name of opening the map up a bit. I would say structurally it is about 90% complete, mostly just need to sort out spawns/weapons/objectives now and then touch up on the aesthetics when I see how many objects I've got left - should be ready for testing in a day or two. I've taken a couple screenshots of it, but have no idea how to access them on PC? My question is do many people still play MCC customs or forge on it these days? I know matchmaking isn't particularly populated. After so long, I'm a bit out of the loop with the Halo and forge community. I'm looking for people to play with basically.
You’ve missed a lot while you were away, welcome back - please consider catching up by perusing the various Forgehub Contest pages from the last few years. As to finding people to play with, club WAYWO is where it’s at...
Finished loading up my File Shares. Here's a list in case anyone wants to figure out some extra space for their own collection. Anything on this list will be safe with me. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hwe_LI0qKNHI410S-6J7IX1qf5rN9ZtrdujBAAa-Pp4/edit?usp=sharing
How did you load it up? I have a tonne of maps that I would still like access to in Halo Reach in the MCC. In Reach there were limited slots so I only really hosted my own maps but if it's coming over to MCC I would like to be sure all of the maps that I have in my local list are over there. It's not that they're all great it's just that I'd rather not part with them. Currently on the Xbone they they just load up automatically with my save file wherever I go but I don't think that's what 343 is talking about.
In order to get any map/mode files transferred you simply need to put them on your file share. Once you do that you're good to go. Unfortunately you're only limited to 24 files per game so choose wisely.
Oof. 24 rough. I dunno if I can handle going through the 100 plus maps I have and trying to figure out who's maps to keep. I know I can always load them up on BC or the 360 but I'd rather have the option in Reach without realizing later that I missed a beloved map. God knows I'm not about to reattempt to build something in Reach unless they decide to overhaul the Forge controls to something a bit more current. At least it isn't Halo 3 forge controls. Also what about all of this FORGEHUB FAVORITES - HALO REACH
