I've been building this for stormy, and switched it to clear just to see what it would look like. The colors popped and some of the lights became unnecessary. Only downside is that I don't get to use sideways lightning or the thunder fx, and the interior spaces don't have true blacks, but more like 50% grey. I don't know what I'll use yet, but if I run out of objects, I can save some with clear lighting
You know how lights pop in and out depending on your distance from them? I literally just now discovered its because they arent pointed towards you. What kind of **** is this that im just now finding this out?
I got alot done this weekend... Demoed on my hall bathroom (tore out rotted subfloor, pink tile shower and countertop/sink) and reinstalled subfloor and sheetrock for shower walls and found some time to work on this...
I got a bit of the bug today and started fussing with a map I hadn't fussed with in a couple years. I don't know if I'll ever get this remake playable but I spent a lot of time building and cleaning up today. It needs about a half a dozen smooth scripted doors that open and close quickly as well as a couple smooth rotating floors. I don't know if I really care about it but they also have a Target that spins when you shoot it and opens a door. As well as a bunch of scripting to do that gets you points for when you shoot targets, again I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with that. It's not like I've got a bunch of fancy Nerf guns to run around the map with anyway. Sigh, I wonder what I good Nerf Arena game in 2020 would look like.
New 1v1, just needs a little more testing and adjustment. Probably a new name too. Dont know if this was rhetorical or not but yeah. The knowledge is less useful for spot lights because theyre usually pointed towards geometry but if you have a point light thats disappearing when looking towards it from a distance, just face the light in the direction youd be looking at it from and boom it stays lit up.
What is going on, people are posting stuff they're working on? And I don't care if it was 500 pages long, if forge came with a manual I'd read all of it. I didn't know about facing point lights either.
Honestly a 1 flag contest would be cool. Like, it is a thing now people. sure we'd give Nok a heart attack with how many maps it would need to be implemented on but still- #lacuna2019 or... call me crazy... what about a Battle royale contest? I know half of you just checked out but for those of you still listening... i might have accidentally deleted all the terrain and buildings from Unsorted guys battle grounds... and conveniently forgot to delete all the scripts, including the random weapons and moving circle... cough just saying cough
Very nice, a lot of futuristic themes ive seen around don't have a distinct feeling and unique geometry, and typically overcompensate with heavily detailed pieces, even though im not big on core maps im a huge fan of the design you have here.
I dont really know what husky raid is. Why does it look like husky raid? This makes me feel less satisfied with what I have if it looks like something else...
Joke re. recent competition for Husky Raid playlist. Husky Raid consists of random weapon spawns on some type of single hallway map, sort of like castle wars. All you can do design-wise in that mode is make a hallway look pretty.
