So as we all desperately await Halo Infinite's arrival, I'm curious to see how 343 improves upon Halo 5's custom browser. The infamous custom browser we have now is far from perfect. Despite it being plagued with clan kids, assassination maps, and the occasional hentai thumbnail, the concept of it was something that was highly requested since the days of Halo 3. With that being said, how would you improve the custom game browser for Halo Infinite? (Other than ban all clan recruitment maps)

We'll see the improvement of their current build with the introduction of the browser in the MCC this year.

I think, they will test the MCC browser (improved H5 version), learn even more from it - hopefully - and then implement it into H6.

You should be able to make maps into bundles with whatever gamemode you want them to be played with, it could be bundled with multiple gamemodes and people could choose them, of course you could choose whatever gamemode you want, but if it is not a core map it should have a little tiny indicator that lets people know they are not using the intended gamemode on the map, preventing people from joining. I should make a mockup, it would almost be like car indicator lights in a way, with various meanings. You could look at the game options before joining a game as well.

:hot:)-Map is being played with an edited gamemode or has altered core settings to intended mode.
:doublekill:) Map is being played with intended gamemode or Officially supported core mode (if its a core map).
triplekill) Map has weapons with custom properties (say glitched weapons or an alternative for it comes for infinite, this will let people know that when they play a map to expect some guns to function differently)

These indicators would greatly reduce the amount of dissapointment when you join a map and they are playing some bullshit gamemode not made for it.
    -----------------------------------------------------
Also no more putting files online or taking them offline like they do now, it should function like the bungie fileshare did where it is blank until you put something there, you have your own file set seperate from the fileshare, and you put your bundles or prefabs on the fileshare.

But here is the cool thing, you could have another fileshare only avalabile to people you choose, so say you are building a map with a group, you could have a creation board of sorts, you can set your secret fileshare to disable overwrites as well, so your friends can edit map 1.0 and upload map 1.1.

This would be much better than fumbling around and sending files around, if someone is appearing online and editing a file you can also JIP to see what is going on as well.
    --------------------------------

Also, you should be able to make custom categories for your prefabs or ones you download, this is an absolute must!
This would also carry over to your personal file share, so you can have your own categories on yours. Since it will function like a bungie fileshare, you do not have to take a map offline everytime you edit it, instead you just edit said file, and reupload it to the slot or choose the (save over fileshare map) option, on top of this the game will backup the old version to prevent critical mistakes from happening.
    -----------------------------------
You should also be able to kick players or reserve spots for friends/specific players.

I've been wanting game type included in the file as the default option for years. I understand the purpose of why it is set up the way it is but it's not the most intelligent way to do it. In the past what I recommended was to append the game type to the map and when installed it would automatically get dropped in the game type file list if it wasn't already there. Then when the game is selected it would load up that game type as a default but you could forcibly select something else if you wanted.

That leads me to something else I've wanted though not specifically connected to custom file share. I would love to have the ability to choose the default game type for all of my maps. It would be nice to not have to constantly switch between game types for different maps every time I load them even though I only ever want to play that game type for that specific map.

As an example; I've created a game type called Canyon Run that we use when we play on maps that have large landscapes like Sandtrap and Avalanch. The game type includes a minor boost to walking speed and an increase in radar to something like 25 meters.

The point in those settings is to keep the game intensity up with our smaller group on larger maps. It works quite well but it's so easy to forget to load it up before we start the match and it's the only way we play those maps. Being able to choose this game type as the default for this map would save time and headaches.

As for features specific to the custom games browser I would love to be able to search it blindly but when I come upon a map I like I would like to be able to select the author and be directed to their file share to see what other maps they have created. This is also a feature I would like to see in my own map lists. If there is a map in my list I would like to be able to click on the author and be taken to their file share to see what else they have created.
