It's looking good so far. Most of the major asthetics are complete. Still needs much more detail, and a few things could be changed around. Also needs blockers, boundaries, spawning, vehicles, and weapons. I'm taking my time on this map to make sure it looks and plays as good as possible. I will probably start posting screenshots within a week.
Hi guys, I'm not forging anymore, but I wanted to know if there is some kind of free editor similar to our beloved forge. Or in alternative if there is an editor simple to learn. Thanks Edit: I don't really want to build playspaces, only scenery.
Unreal is free. You can create it all from scratch or like forge download assets that others have created. I haven't done it myself though so I don't know anything beyond that.
last update on the map i post here, just wanted to get some screenshots that are more representative of what the map will actually look like (theres still going to be another boat added)

So, I am looking for a potential "phantom" piece, and trying to delete a bunch of crap and see what is left over (on a 2nd copy of course) what... the fuhh... is this... (ignore the slipstream and explosion sounds, as they are part of something else off-camera) https://xboxdvr.com/gamer/exterrestr1al/video/64890745 EDIT: After viewing this again, it looks like a vehicle that is spawning in at the edge of the map and despawning either due to its position outside of the map, or something similar. I hope it is something I can actually select and delete, because it may be contributing to a bug EDIT 2: it was a vehicle. A ghost, specifically. Turns out on PC you can draw a selection rectangle, hold it until the vehicle respawns, and select something that otherwise the game keeps deleting and does not come back and stay long enough when you RESET MAP to allow for you to ever delete it otherwise. When it comes back, it gets selected by your mouse selection, and can then be moved or given new coordinates.
Are you trying to focus on a particular style of gunfight for players or are you aiming for a standard slayer gameplay? As the map is now, most of the engagements are going to be straight on, head to head, wild west DRAW! type of fights. And doing that over and over will make your map feel repetitive to players and they will loose interest in it after not to long. If you want more interesting gameplay to keep players engaged, change your city from the great plains of Texas to something a little more San Francisco.
Hard to say so far, but it'll probably support several gametypes. Most likely Slayer, CTF, Strongholds, and yes, Infection. I'm still not sure if it'll be 8v8 or 4v4, but most likely 8v8.
