So I was playing some 4k HDR Halo 3 Multiplayer and damn those Halo 3 maps just keep looking better and better. I could do with darkening the ambient light so the levels really sold but their texturing and attention to detail was amazing. Assembly is practically God level arting for it's era. I couldn't help but to stop and check out the skybox for a while. As good as I remember the level being back then, I can't believe it was almost half the quality that they had created. I remember the only thing I found all that interesting about the art on Cold Storage was the glass wall, the specimen, and the infection stuff. After running around there for a while now I can see how much love that was put into that level. It makes me wonder what it would look like if it was dropped into the latest engine and had the lighting rebuilt. The only real touches I would do after that would be to remake the flood stuff just because. The MCC may need more work but I'm so happy to see these levels looking their best.
In this instance, and keeping in mind the second question I raised, I look at the thoughts or electrical impulses in the brains of the animals you mentioned as different intensities of that highway. Things like instinct or the basic 5 senses (in humans case, other animals with different/more senses would be included as such) would be the interstate and massive 8 lane roads that link the system. Those would have the most intensity, and could explain why even though most animals lack any of the more complex thoughts that humans have, they can still have a very real and commanding presence. If you think of the intensity I'm speaking of in terms of light, and that we level the playing field by assuming (as a form of measurement) that all beings can experience this light equally, it can make sense that the majority of life experiences at least some of the same light. Moving on to the more complex light (or light with less intensity), I equate that to thoughts like 'I know what my favorite band is' and 'where am I in the universe?". The light isn't muddled because it's not as vibrant at its source, but there are numerous other factors involved which reflects and refracts the light until its intensity is diminished. The animals and humans capable of seeing this low intensity light allow them more choices and growth of their thoughts, as they can travel down highways (in this instance they would be better described as residential streets) other animals cannot. @Dunco yeah lol but also most other people I've met irl can't read the word before 'orgasm', but the beavers aren't beavers, they are prairie dogs that are supposed to represent men who don't praise and sacrifice to 'God the Woman' I think it's an ingenious way of controlling people, both hermetic and Abrahamic versions. It fundamentally removes the choice to think from those who follow it, while also presenting a kind of purpose. The hermetic versions are really tempting for lost and broken people, the Abrahamic versions are great for getting kids while they are young or breaking others when they are older. It's absolutely sick either way you cut it.
