I agree Mercy is really pretty. Even in terms of gameplay I prefer Mercy as compared to Haven in H4. There arent many H5 maps I really like but I do have a soft spot for Overgrowth, Plaza and Truth. In terms of looks, I really dig Truth as compared to the billion other iterations. There's something about the darker tones and the softer light I like.
I really like Guardian but Epitaph gets my H3 vote. The details, the colors, the floor, the ambiance. All really well done.
There is definitely talent in their art team, what they seem to lack is proper direction. Honestly it took me a while to pick which map I liked because there is so much to love about what they did in Halo 3. The variety is what I would love to point out most. They managed to make a plethora of Halo maps all with their own look and feel and yet distinctly Halo. Epitaph was definitely a competitor for that top spot but for me Guardian won by a hair.
I think what pushed Guardian ahead for me was one of my favorite Sci Fi tropes - Science VS Nature. I can't get enough of it. The more ancient the the environment the better. How could I not fall for Halo. Halo = Science + dead civilization in Nature vs Aliens and what comes off as an almost ancient alien/nature spawn. Yaaay!
He is incapable of this presentation. He is nervous, reads too fast and tries to be cool but really isn't. I made it 2 minutes after you Dweeb.
I think I posted this video in this thread shortly after the video originally came out. I found it challenging to post, because of the combination of tears and vomit covering my keyboard. Now I need to clean it again. Thanks.
He's talking too fast? I increase the video speed on like 90% of what I watch/listen to on youtube. Same with audio books. ****ing audiobooks... they read so damn slow.
Amusingly, he's talking mostly about the "Melee abilities", i.e. spartan charge and ground pound. These are surely the most disliked parts of the sandbox? I'd be happy if they cut only those two things; spartan charge for being such a shitty, frustrating mechanic, and ground pound for being both annoying and totally opposed to the flavour of Halo.
