Don't listen to all these kids. If a prefab is set to be search visible its fair game. There are just a lot of forgers that want credit for every little lego they place. As long as you didn't go into another map and create a prefab from someone else's work I think its ok.

 

Definitely not agree with that. We are not talking about one or two blocks but structures easily recognisable in a first look. The point is not to absolutely giving credit to everything, just to be honest and say "I used prefabs", is it to be a kid to request that ?

I think a good part of people creating prefabs do it just because they have good ideas of little structures and don't want to create a map for them. Of course these prefabs can be re-used but lean on them too is a potential loss of creativity, that's a fact.

We can have -again- a debate about prefabs but I am not sure It's necessary. My point of view is just that if someone uses prefabs on his map, he has to tell it, it will definitely kill nobody and it's a proof of good faith.

 

Meh. Don't make em public if you don't want them used publicly.

An acknowledgment would be nice but I don't think it should be this mandatory thing where people **** shame another forger for using what is provided to them. Fact is if your prefab is amazing enough that upon just looking at it others know it was made by you then why even bother with something as trivial as wanting a map post credit.

 

Personally I will never make a prefab public, but it's a personnal choice of course. I don't think I was shaming another forger, I was giving my point of view on an important aspectn it's not the first time i see this situation and everytime it's the same thing.

If you have no problem with the usage of prefabs, why don't just tell it ? I wrote it in my first comment, maybe Riftocity you are not aware about that, and maybe you had not understand the importance of this demand. If prefabs are created to be used and you used them on the map you've created, the minimum is to specify it at the beginning or you will have to face with people who will denigrate your work just because of that.

Maybe you are thinking I am blaming you but it's not the case, I want to warn you that people do not agree about the usage of prefabs.

 

This is blown out of proportion and should exist in its own thread. This isn’t great feedback, it’s hardly a debate. There are some nuggets of feedback outside of the prefab war going on. Keep forging man, we all start somewhere.
