Honestly as much as i enjoy the story archs and history of smash veterans, the whole thing has been kind of blown out of proportion. They refer to eachother as Gods in a non satire way, illusions of grandeur
Not at all. It simply was a term back then, this doc mostly covers ~2007-2015. Gods, because they literally were untouchable for the entire rest of the world and only fought against each other. Watch the first episode, Scar explains it quite well. There's no illusions of grandeur, it's a simple metaphor, quite fitting at that; you read too much into it.
