I wish I could like this twice. Played H5 campaign the other day (first 2 levels) just to see if what I knew was true was true and after playing multiplayer I thought, hell, campaign truly couldn't be a worse deviation of bungie Halo's then multiplayer is? Boy was I wrong.

Sounds like we've got a conspiracy theory within a conspiracy theory to me.

    What if...

@WeedCough one of the recent updates changed some of the lighting, so I don't know which canvas still does what anymore. But generally speaking, Glacier has the darkest shadows but worst fog settings, Alpine and Tidal have best fog, Barrens has the worst contrast and Parallax has the worst filters.

In my experience, Alpine and Exosphere have the best shading/lighting

I think it's pretty delusional to think people have some sort of privileged position in the universe.

There's a trillion aliens cooler than you.

Oh and I like the darker canvases on Tidal for lighting. As an amateur photographer I despise middle of the day, superdark hard shadows.

I should have clarified. I'm not actually advocating for the existence or non-existence of hell, as the definition of hell isn't well defined or agreed upon. If some form or concept of it does exist, it surely isn't what the "pop culture" imagery of it represents.

Religion has 100% been used by the world Elite to control people, no argument there. But the idea that you should "do whatever you want" is silly.

No matter what you believe all humans have an untaught morality meter within them. If you look inside yourself, you can often tell what's right and wrong. I think we should strive to do right, not for fear of consequence by others, but simply for our own souls health. Not asking anyone to be perfect, we can't, I'm just really triggered by the "Do What Thou Wilt" Philosophy. It's evil, and a terrible way to live.

    I have a christmas story.

Every year for the past 12 years or so some dj's of a Dutch the radio station 3FM have this Serious Request week and lock themselves up in a glass house in a different city each year for 7 days before christmas (they also don't eat, only veggie shakes) and make radio 24/7 for a charity of the red cross. (Last year was kids with pneumonia around the world and this year it's family members who lost eachother for months due to conflict or disaster). It's a december tradition now and you can donate at the glass house, ask for a song, texting, app, calling etc. People around the country contribute or even make projects of their own. Kids go washing cars or give away their small savings, school bake offs, companies and celebrities auctioning cool stuff whatever.

Last year a 6 year old boy, Tijn, showed up at the glass house with his father and wanted to speak at the microphone outside. He said that Tijn had a great idea to raise some money; he will polish the nails of 3 people for 1 Euro for each person but if they decline they have to pay 10. He also said Tijn suffered from a form of braincancer which can't be cured and he will die very soon but they wanted to do something for the kids with pneumonia who don't get to get a 6th birthday, but Tijn did, said the father. The kinda shocked dj's invited him into the house and half the country saw on tv or heard on the radio what an incredible story this little guy had. People teared up and the square went silent. Then they decided that he could do his polishing from the glass house, and opened up a hole where you could donate and a hole were he could polish your nails. He first polished the nails of the dj's and the other people in the house, men included so soon men of all ages were in line too. The amount of money people gave to Tijn raised fast and when social media picked up his story and it was a matter of time before everybody started their own nailpolishing projects that they could donate to the page the father made for Tijn's idea.

Usually Serious Request brings between 7 or 12 million and 2016 was 9 million and Tijn's nailpolishing raised 2,5 million alone. That little boy showed us so much, that he would try to raise money for kids on the other side of the world, when he was sick and dying. It brought a tear to my eye and many people with me. It broke everyone's heart and he became a symbol for Serious Request because this little man did so much and made you realize what christmasis all about.

National and international media were on the scene and he became mayor of the city for one day, got a royal award, a planet was named after him, he received an award from the red cross and a Dutch singer wrote a song for him and performed it at the glass house. Tijn wanted to do even more and with a Dutch comedian he had the idea of selling nailpolish in spring in his name for 10 Euros. The money would go to braincancer research and they raised another 1,2 million.

In July of this year, 8 months after Serious Request, he died from his illness and on the place of last years glass house, his parents opened up a nailpolishing house for this week to raise money again for this year.

You have no idea what she sings ofcourse but its just to give an impression.

This is just one video I found with English subtitles.

    Happy holidays everybody.

I was going to write something about this earlier, but I found this post on Voat (lol) that explains in a more colorful tone some more of what I would have. Mods can move this discussion to off topic if it gets out of hand, I don't want to create a thread.

"A Christian would be someone who believes Jesus Christ was literally the Son of God born on Earth to be a final sacrifice for all of the past, present, and future sin of all mankind. They would believe he died on a cross willingly as a representative sacrifice, stayed dead for three days, then came back to Earth in his old body to show that He actually was God. As long as you really believe that in actual faith and then pray to God to tell Him that with your own mouth as a physical step you're actually good for the rest of your life and you're going to Heaven.

Everything after that is about trying to live a Christian life so you can grow a stronger bond with God over time and get some blessings along the way

    [....]

The modern concept of heaven and hell are far skewed from the Bible. Hell isn't even in the Bible. The unsaved go to a pretty awful place and you can call that hell if you want, but it's not like the movies. Heaven is a literal city God built. It's made of jade (if I remember correctly) and is the shape of a cube. God made heaven to hold the angels and Himself at first, with the angels doing whatever he wants. We humans were a late addition to Heaven. Your worst day in heaven is like your best day on Earth. When you're saved God makes a place for you in Heaven. What that place is like, how current memories work, exactly what we'll get to do there, how we'll experience and all that is left as a tease until you get there.

Imagine God kinda like a massively powerful Matthew McConaughey inside the tesseract in Intersteller. God is an all powerful being that can transcend our 3d (x,y,z,) and 4d (time) abilities. Instead of being stuck in the river of time in a 3d fixed world God can see and move about in time as He wishes. He knows everything because He can see it all right in front of Him.

For why He doesn't just hop in and cure cancers everywhere and such, basically God is the master programmer that coded our reality. He made it perfect and to run on it's own and for things to take their natural course. Movement of the stars, the weather, sadness, pain, death... all that was coded right in. That was part of the plan (you said it best, you can't experience real joy without sadness). But sin corrupted the entire code and added things like cancer that cause way overboard suffering. Instead of deleting the entire database (the universe) to start over, God decided to make a few changes and code edits here and there and to make a plan for the code to end at a certain day and time. To put it simply He is basically letting the program run its course. After this program we call our reality comes to an end God is installing v2.0 with no cancer, a completely remade Earth, and with no sin."

There's more to the post so click if you want, but that's what I wanted to share, and it's more or less what I heard from my church some odd years ago. Honestly, if you can wade through the typical Voat trash, there's some pretty good discussion in that thread.

As long as you don't force your religious beliefs on me or other people, and as long as a certain religion doesn't dictate political policy, I couldn't care less what you believe or how you choose to exercise your beliefs. Morality exists independent of religion.

Well, not to start another VERY long topic of discussion but no morality doesn't exist without God but that's a topic for another time

"A certain religion doesn't dictate political policy"

    That gave me shivers.

It's extremely alarming that the average American has almost no clue just how bad religious beliefs have dictated this countries political polices since it's creation.

What's more scary, is mass media/govt propaganda has programmed us to believe it's religions like Christanty, Islam that are a threat to religious and political separation and that couldn't be further from the truth.

Occultic "Babylonian religions have nearly saturated all forms of our govt, and govts leading up to ours, all the way back to the days of Ancient Babylonian. It's a obvious fact it seems people are willingly blind to and disturbs me daily. That symbolism surrounds us. Every wonder why we use "Roman Greco" Architecture for govt buildings and monuments? Every wonder why Masonic religious symbolism is literally all over our currency?

Freemasonry, Eastern Shriners, Knights Of Eulogia(Skull and Bones). Our past presidents we're just members of these groups for fun, they lived by and practiced there doctrines. I seriously implore people to research what these cults are about, it's not a healthy thing for our govt.

Id rather listen to arguments about keymaps over listening to religion in waywo again.

Despite hating it, at least that was relating to forge.

TECHNICALLY speaking (if I'm gauging this super long discussion right) nothing exists without God, but I think he meant that morality doesn't require a God to practice it.

I know I do everything without expecting any divine intervention, if he is out/up there I'd rather not take up his time with my stupid human problems.

It's honestly not worth discussing religious ideologies with a bunch of online avatars.

It's never a discussion. Just a bunch of statements made while ignoring what the other party says.

    Double post:

I only usually ignore people's points because they don't come from a space of love; they just want to be right. Show me a better way and I'm all for it.
