    exactly how do you even compare this game to past games

    its an illusion by 343 because mcc was so bad as well as h4 that when something slightly better came ppl were like omg h5 omg we back

    Or they are younger and their early Halo experience wasn't CE or Halo 2 like most of us. We old.

    "From the top of my head" lol man I love Chunk. Great post.

    I'm a filthy casual so Multi will hate my opinions too but here it is anyway...

    CE-Was my 'first' first-person-shooter after Doom so I only played lots of multiplayer with friends and it was just fooling around really. Loved the unique maps but the pistol was op. Controls were flawless and it was fun to play again for a short while on MCC but I didn't do well. Skill gap is huge. (I fell in love with the story and campaign so that's why I became a Halo fan in the end).

    H2-Awesome multiplayer, we were still awful but we loved it. So many LAN nights. Wished I played more online than I did. Me and my friends were equally skilled at that time so every game was exciting and intense. Sick maps. H2A multiplayer was gorgeous but I didn't played it as much as I wanted.

    H3-My vote goes to H3. My favourite multiplayer and one of the greatest games of all time. Made with so much love. I liked the weapons, equipment and vehicles. Kinda slow movement but great community, great support, montages, big team, multi team, even more LAN, forge maps, customs, theater, awesome ranking system, I loved the maps, the playlists, just about everything.

    REACH-Well Reach was a let down because of **** maps, bloom and most of all armor abilities. I hated them so much that I didn't even used them for my advantage, I rather lose than play as a ****ing *****. Credits were cool but the ranking system was gone unfortunately. I only used sprint, I hated the rest with a passion, I just refused to use them. Customization was the best in the series and I liked the more military approach. Grenade launcher is the best part of the game and I liked Invasion and Headhunter. I still had a lot of fun with my real friends and made lots online. UI was great and so was forge but I only fooled around in it. CE maps were cool.

    H4-Man what a disgrace. Sound, overall design, art, maps, perks, boltshot, loadouts, armor and amor abilities were all equally horrifying to me. I only got to SR69 or something. Reach is a masterpiece compared to this game.

    H5-Loved the return of even starts and breakout sounded awesome but really wasn't. Strongholds is cool. Spartan abilities feel like gimmicks. Warzone and Reqs are awful and I hated the fact big team was completely left alone. Aiming was **** and I don't know why. I haven't played multiplayer in ages. Maps are **** and like in Reach I refuse to use crap and flawed game mechanics to win. I almost never use Spartan charge or ground pound. Clamber is weird and thrust is ok I guess. Forge is without a doubt the best part of this game.

    H6-My hopes and dreams for forge are huge. The rest is meh. And that is just a painful reality for this franchise.

    I know I speak English like a 10 year old and I should've been able to voice my opinion better than this. Oh well.

    CE: Loved the movement speed and fast potential kills. Disliked vehicles getting stolen forever and having them respawn on you to kill you, and crushing you to death while moving at 2 miles per hour. Plasma hitstun was very interesting. Grenades were too crazy strong. Awesome maps. Projectiles are my favorite. The best Fuel Rod is a mortar Fuel Rod. No progression but your own skill level. My second played and second favorite in the series. Formerly my favorite.

    H2: Loved everything except the lack of projectiles. And maybe too much magnetism. More awesome maps with new objectives. Elites and dual wielding were fantastic extras. The best physics IMO. Missed the flamethrower and AR though. Lock-on rockets are way better than spartan laser. Difficult progression. My first and now favorite game in the series.

    H3: BR spread is bad. Netcode is bad. Maps were slightly worse than Halo 2's. Decent customization foundation. That weak magnum took skill and was good for infection modes. Excellent vehicles, until they get one-shot by a low-skill laser beam. Also introduced EMP to kill vehicular dreams further. I hated the dumb dual wielding damage nerf. Forge was amazing. I liked the projectiles. Still difficult progression.

    Reach: Awful mechanics. **** bloom. Good to okay maps except sword base. Amazing gametypes and firefight. And co-op matchmaking for campaign, if that counts. Very good customization. Invasion is the best mode. Good vehicles, but they were paper mache. Grenade launcher ruins vehicle play but it was fun on small maps. Forge was more amazing. Half-assed, half-applied title update that didn't affect automatics was dumb. Beta Repeater and AR were better than in the final game. Great progression. Grenades felt stronger than they actually were due to the flashbang.

    H4: Bad looking spartans, but good armor, stance, and emblem variety. Plays better than Reach, but maps kinda suck. Dominion was solid, but no Invasion. Weapon balance update took too long. My favorite CoD title. lol sticky detonator. Why let us spawn with anti-vehicle stuff? Just... why. Loved the powerful zombies in infection. Forge was okay. Weapon sound direction felt really off. **** that monitor noise when forging. Boltshot was actual cancer. lol progression. Spartan Ops was solid. Best flagnum ever.

    H5: Return to arena is great. Dev maps are okay, but they severely lack fun factor. Our forge maps became increasingly stunning. Very poor spartan customization until later. Nice assassination variety. Breakout got worse over time. Gametypes just vanished. REQ system is alright. Warzone AI is laughable.

    I have the weird opinion of only liking CE and 5. I can't stand H2 or 3 anymore, and I never really liked Reach and 4.

    Every person who has posted something along the lines of the CE pistol being too strong, or the CE weapon sandbox wasn't balanced - is now set to ignore so I don't have to see your posts anymore.

    I'm legitimately surprised that 75% of the active members on this forum prefer a game that was released over a decade ago. It's pretty amazing that that many are still around, and is a real testament to how special the original trilogy is.

    Halo 1 is the definition of Halo to me. The rest are experiments that worked well in some places, but overall were failures in comparison.

    You already know all the reasons I love it Tyler and I know you love a lot of the same things, so just tell your bosses to make Halo: Combat evolved 2 already.

    CEs map pool was brilliant. Simple syms (Wizard/Derelict), vertical (Damnation/HeH/Prisoner), large scale (Sidewinder/Blood Gulch), two base (Battle Creek), room-based (Chill Out) experimental/fun (Chiron/Boarding Action), linear (Longest/Rat Race)

    If you have nothing of substance to add, then you dont need to post at all. Stop trying to derail it for attention.
