Aye, reminds me of Hubris. Solid art direction. Your aesthetics have gotten pretty good over the past year
Its made on barrens. you get some really nice darkness in the interior of maps. Something I learnt from my town map. Im gaining more appreciation for lighting now that im managing the budget properly.
I'm gonna be putting out a video about it but you can achieve 100% player darkness on Depths using a simple series of settings. I have a clip of it on my XBL
@ExtraSpicyMemes Ive never actually looked at your profile pic up close before. I always thought it was just a spartan with a flood form on 'em I was wrong
I kind of need spartans well lit for gameplay reasons. Also I cant really use depths because the whole map is water. plus im trying to make the water dark, so when a player actually goes underwater its hard to see through with a gloom effect which also darkens player models. I tried the underwater fx but its too bright. gloom works well for the lighting im trying to achieve.
Don't take this as an attack or anything of the sort, but that is quite possible the worst name for a map I've ever heard
My tv isn't the most accurate but my brightness is on normal. No I'll probably make his map a bit brighter before it's published. When you do lighting on the same map for a while your eyes adjust and get used to the darkness and it's hard to gauge
Like soldiers, they have a red filter on their flashlight to look at maps in complete darkness, it doesn't effect your natural nightvision. Other wise it would again take 10-15 minutes before your eyes have adjusted again.
I have to keep my brightness on PC FOrge at 3/5 because apparently the XB1 is inherently darker by default. There is no way to change the brightness on the XB itself, just the game. I discovered this over the summer when my son and his XB1 were here and we were playtesting Castle Wars "Reforged" with randoms on XB1. I had to lighten up the interior areas and it matches if I have it at about "3"... I don't know if other PC Forgers have noticed this...
