I really like this a lot. It kinda gives incentives to post maps and stuff. Would certainly make me brush off some of my old unfinished stuff and try to push it out for points. I could also see this kinda being a bad thing too though. Take for example that whole thing a week ago where whoever posted like 10 maps at once. It would seem like map spamming for points. I think the issue more lies with the people who should have it but do not. The whole comment about Ascend being a forge critic was hillarious. Ascend is such a chill guy, I'd say he's a nice medium between hardcore 100% serious forging and just forging for the fun of it. He never gives crazy drastic feedback on maps because I think he'd rather let the forger see what's wrong with it through him giving them a couple ideas but ultimately still letting the creator determine what they want the map to be. The dude also goes through and plays way more forge maps then anyone besides Brusky maybe. So I wouldn't imagine any overly critical feedback from him on any map for that reason.
Who cares if people spam maps. It's a forge forum lol let people post what they want. Let people grind for those sick HubPoints.. Forge Points?.... Forge Blocks... Forge Sheckles..
I didn't get the thing about Ascend either, if someone were to say something about my map id hope it would be someone like him.
I remember being really pissed because I always hated his playstyle. He was just mechanically superior and ****ing snowballed harder than I have seen anybody with a railgun snowball.
Yeah I watched that. It was what made me hate the key map. lol That 2014 series was insane because it was one of the few times the champion won almost solely on mechanical skill. Dahang's item control was mostly superior but Cypher just couldn't miss at all with the railgun.
I remember that fatality one. That was the last quake when he had right. Also, toxic has one of the sickest lg's ever. Cooler is still good, but when he was young he was this weird in between of cypher and rapha that was just impossible to beat. There is a vid online where Cooler goes over his finals match with rapha. It was really interesting. He just couldn't stop talking about how playing Rapha is extremely difficult because he knows what you are going to do before you do.
Cypher and Rapha are two of the most interesting players to watch. One is just an insane player and the other has crazy prediction and understanding of what's happening in the game.
I saw something because all these guys played pro ow for a bit and they were asking Rapha why Cypher had struggled with the transition to OW. He basically said that Cypher had developed bad positioning habits from his approach to playing Quake. He said Cypher would force as many awkward encounters as possible to turn the fight into a test of mechanical skill. He would basically take bad fights at weird times.
Loved the points on Xforgery and I would strongly advocate to have them on Forgehub. One thing I hated though was having every member have whatever colored name they wanted. I never knew who was a staff member and it made it difficult to request for help. I'm all for it aside of being able to have everyone color their name.
I am so (FPS) uneducated... so the key concept comes from a previous concept? I was always curious about that... does the Key setup some of us have been using mimic how it was done in Quake or something? Was that a stock feature of Quake? (I never got into quake, for no other reason than I just wasn't exposed to it much)
Elder in Quake Live uses a key that opens door. I copied that. Added the "ammo limit" (10 uses), the key burn, alternating spawn, visual effects and whatnot. But it existed in Elder.
