Most people I know that do it because of the 1.5 increase to hourly wage for those hours and that it typically helps a lot with your monthly budget.
I don't mind it but it definitely can be frustrating at times. It does help keep people from growing complacent.

If you look at the current state of the world it makes sense. I have always been one to think that is more or less the states job to take care of the people not the federal government. This is considering the size of the country and the system we already have in place.
I think extra money is nice, especially if you are saving for something specific but it gets to the point where you are essentially wasting good years of your life. Don't get me wrong if something needs the money id be glad to do it, and I understand why people do it. Id personally rather have less money and not burn myself out if I have the choice, I am not working my young years away if I can help it. Kind of sad that a lot of us don't have a choice, we either get OT or work a second job. If you have a family to support its even more intense.
Also, the U.S. has a wide variety of industries that all vary in how someone could possibly get burnout. I personally believe that the majority of your working years should be spent why you are fairly young and healthy just in case your dream job is not available but if your family is well off enough that you don't have to then you don't have to. I know most of the people I know that did this ended up as an alcoholic or crackhead but that is a result of the environment where I come from.
I think it is to early to say that. Considering there were military rollbacks in the Obama administration. H FYI Both China and Russia had increased theirs during this time and considering their stance on things that have been prioritized socially in the west it seems like money well spent.
I think its so weird how the thread meant for showcasing work is basically a general thread that is also more active than any thread on Forgehub. If you are more into the customs side of Halo Forge other than using it as a tool for level design this place just feels outright unwelcoming and strange.
