Hello !! New to forge and this is what I've been working on. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-ca/...ooSnip3r_f40437be-e1a0-41ce-aa8c-b9cee6b97d33 Basically learning how forge works and having a better appreciation for those who build maps for the general community. I'm pretty close to being done, even though no work is ever really done. Is it ? But I just finished having my first big beta play test and it was total combat carnage !! I used the CTF game mode today and left it open for anyone to join. Ended up being a very interesting BTB CTF session with lots of dynamic changes as everyone figured out the flow. Biggest thing I have to work on now are spawns. The way I have them set up now creates a bit of a chaotic scene. But just reading what people have posted about their spawning experiences and I think I have an idea of how to change that. Next thing to tweak is weapon placements and their respawn times to balance out. Any links to specific discussion on spawns you think I should focus on I'd be happy to see them
Halo 5's spawn system tries to spawn you as far away from enemies as possible. In a 1v1, the game will literally pick the farthest spawn point from the killing player. I'd focus on newer videos here.
So uh... Where's the contest results at? We gonna get that anytime soon? Wouldn't want to have Multi get a fast one pulled on him again do we?
Contest Update for those wondering where we are at: @everyone If you guys remember, were on the stage where we record and add together 3 values for design, art and gameplay. The average of the judges scores for each map determines if it is eliminated or not. The score to be eliminated is <9. Along with these values being recorded we are also saving some feedback (to add to trello) for each map of the main thoughts we have so that this time around people will have a better understanding of why their maps may have been eliminated. We will also be using the labels in trello that coincide with the scores each map got so that forgers will know what category brought their maps down. Since we arent all playing together, when a judge finds value in a map that the other judges may have missed, we end up going back to play them even more. Thats where most of my time has gone during this contest. Soldat and i for sure have spent a ton of time together debating maps and reevaluating our opinions. Weve literally played hundreds of games. When all judges have their scores in we will probably pass them around so that everyone can question the other judges scores one last time for any concerns they may have and then we will work on rolling this rounds results out. A couple of the judges have completed their scores/feedback and the other two should have theirs in this week. We have been playing these maps every moment we get even though we all have a lot of stuff going on outside of judging. We are so close to wrapping this round up and just as anxious as everyone else is... i assure you. P.S. I feel confident that the next round will be the final round, we shall see.
Sorry, that's probably mostly my fault. I have a good idea of my picks but I have a lot going on and would like to get some more time with them to make sure. Wednesday's are my days off, so I should finalize my bit then if I get an hour or 2. Just to elaborate, I've been on overtime, working 6 days a week. 10 - 12 hour days and I'm in the progress of moving as well. We don't currently have heat and we had a couple days without Internet. All in all, life's just getting in the way a bit. It's a little uncomfortable and I've been holding the guys back I think. Apologized for delaying things a little longer then they probably should have but I still think we can meet Multi's goal of getting it done this week.
Is that like they did a good job so they are rewarded with dicks? Personally, I'm more of a pat on the back and a cookie type of guy.
I understand you guys work more hrs and that it involves more money but I'm more surprised at the fact that everyone who can do it, will do it.
