You all are ignorant as **** to the type of weaponry advancements made on the UNSC Infinity after the human covie war. All gernades in the UNSC arsenal we're equipped with smart-link AOE indicators (hit-markers), these helped Spartans locate and confirm hits on enemy units, increasing the longevity of UNSC troops in close combat situations. In other words, hit markers save lives.
I am the original nade spammer from back in the days of CE. No one ever got around a corner in Battle Creek with their shields intact We didnt[ have hit markers, but we had "oh ****, you asshole!"
Wtf is with the random trash pickups dumping utter garbage by the ****-ton in the maps list? I know that it's not too often but come on, at least put some effort into your map posts, you manchildren!
Can we please make some sort of general map posting guideline template or something? Getting real tired of all the people getting upset at people telling them their map posts are low effort and then they get upset. Also can we not post 10 maps at a time essentially just flushing away all the maps on the first page? Seems like posting multiple maps should be against the rules for that reason but that's none of my business. Survive the town is also why I don't think comments should add to the trending counter thing on the side of the map page. It's just people yelling at each other. Who knew all I have to do to get my map to top trending to the highest number in months is to just trigger some people to start yelling at me.
I feel like there was some kind of contest on fh going on recently, but I can't quite put my finger on it... Probably just my imagination
100% agree. It's not fair for someone to post a map, get it burried, but can't "update" it to get it back to the front for at least a week or whatever... map spam should be illegal. @LazyStudio is either holding all of these just to dump at once, or they aren't his maps. I'm not making an accusation but if it is the former, then he needs to plan out the releases better out of respect for the site. Also, Definitely take comments out of the "trending" algorithm. it should be # downloads per day. The ones highest up on that rating should be on top. That way, even as traffic decreases, whichever ones are doing the best get to the top. Also also, counting pre-fabs as "# of maps posted" for a person should be removed. Prefabs, as useful as they can be, are not maps.
he's not referring to that "dump"... go look at the map lits and you'll see what we're talking about...
Damn, Spicy gave 100% on that criticism. I would kill to get that kind of feedback on any one of my maps. The Trending tab should just be renamed "Controversial"
So... here's a can of worms Everyone knows that post-overtime, plenty of forge maps have been suffering from framerate drops and performance issues and for the most part, we don't know why. I have built a theory that the new set of framerate issues is actually derived from lights/lightbake. I had noticed that upon first loading a map with unbaked lights, framerate was a smooth 60. However, once I baked issues began to arise and most often in spots where multiple light elements over lapped each other. This morning I went to record these drops live at 60fps to do a live comparison and well, here's where it gets weird. There were undoubtedly drops in-game as I recorded. I'm not crazy. But when I went to edit the footage, the framedrop recording came back at a smooth 60fps. As if there were no issues at all. I know this doesn't help too much because it just got harder to prove the drops using live footage but I am pretty certain that the new drops are caused by lights.
interesting... what were you using to judge whether the video was at a smooth 60? There might be a smooth recording of frames, but those frames may not have sync'd up to real game frames, if that makes sense. I don't know if your recording method is capturing screen refreshes of the GPU or from the game. There can be a huge difference on the PC side, IDK about XB... As far as lights being the culprit, that is certainly possible, but keep in mind that the perception of the "investigator" (you) in this situation may be that the cause is one thing, but may actually just be the camel that broke Chief's back, or however the saying goes... So, the fact that it got drops after you baked (huh huh, maybe it was just your perception ) doesn't really prove anything. It just reiterates that lighting takes resources. What we'd need is an apples to apples comparison, so a before and after, of the exact same test with the same map, with the only change being the update. Hard to do...
You guys could have it where a person can only post a maximum of 2 maps a day or something like that to prevent kids from spamming their garbage. As for the post quality issue, strict enforcement of map-posting guidelines should help. It'll also up the quality on the maps section as a whole. Kinda hard though when you have "senior members" posting **** like this lol Spoiler
I am recording gameplay from an Xbox One using an El Gato HD60 S at 1080p 60fps. I use two displays, both of which output and 1080p 60fps. I was editing the footage in Adobe Premiere Pro at half resolution in the work window at 60fps. Long story short, the El Gato (is supposed to) only record what is actively in my display. I don't know what could be happening to dramatically reduce the visibility of these issues. **Edit: You asked what I'm using to judge the drops. The answer is my eyes lol. These are drops anyone could see. They're pretty bad in-game.
