also, it is annoying ofr people trying to view a map if they don't reduce the file sizes that come stock out of the PNG's from the game/xbox. They are huge and even though it is 2017 I would hope people would just convert them to like 98% .JPEG and they will all load inthe time it takes 1 normal one to load... just sayin'
I'd imagine it's a load of extra work. Seeing all the submissions pouring in last minute it seems they have their work cut out for them already lol I would definitely prefer having it, but I would understand if they choose not to. Edit: I think having it for the top 10-15 maps would be nice. Getting an idea of the smaller details that brought an otherwise good map down would work well.
Whose excited for the contest results then? I know it'll be a while but I'm really looking forward to this. I think the best part will be everyone getting mad that the best looking maps don't win because, clearly, gameplay is not a factor. That aside. Good luck everyone. It's been awesome to see so many solid entries.
everybody wins. we all get great 1v1s to play... you just extended your $60 game's life... saved money.
I think I'm one of the few that prefers not to have full transparency during the judging process. I want it to be a total surprise when the winners are announced. I find it to be really anticlimactic when I'm finding out which of the top 10 are actually in the top 5 (or in this case, top 3). I'd rather have the transparency after the fact, showing which tier maps finished in, along with the reasoning behind that placing, and any feedback judges have for the forger. This can all be documented during the judging process, and then released afterward.
What? I didn't win? I liked all of the judges' posts for months for subliminal psychological effect! What gives?
Also, I know it sucks when something like this happens, that's why I planned ahead and made sure I had a full day to double check contest and submission rules before I uploaded my map. I was still sweating with like 5 hours to go lol
@MultiLockOn - you need to turn on "Past broadcasts on Mixer" so folks can rewatch your streams dude.
I just did, good looks though. I want to stream 1's for a few hours rn but no one is on. Someone get on and play with me
While I agree that it’s anticlimactic, I believe that having a contest with a level of transparency is a means for many of ensuring that the entries are all being recognized on the same level. I personally respect that it’s there no matter which side I fall on because it’s a sign that these contests truly are doing their best at keeping everything fair and holding each map at an equal light, no matter the situation. I want to stream 1's for a few hours rn but no one is on. Someone get on and play with me[/QUOTE] Thank you, I was meaning to ask about that. Now, I simply need to figure out how to find past broadcasts...
I guess I just completely necked myself. My map has a "No Download Link" label on trello, so I think that means I DQ'd. I'm not quite sure where I messed up. In my submission post I put the link to the map on waypoint. For future reference, what was I actually supposed to put?
Are you sure you put the link to the map specifically and not just the list of all of your content? Are you sure the map is still visible? If you've edited it since submitting and have not rechecked the visible box in the game, it won't be visible. Annoying, I know, but that's how 343 made it.
