I've already cut the size of my 1v1 map by 1/4 but it still plays too slow. Trying to think of ways to open it up. Right now it's basically an indoor atrium that has different levels flanked by outside areas on two sides. The few tests I've run there's been about 2 kills every minute. Plays a little like cat and mouse especially with the main power weapon being in an area that can be baited fairly easily. The games feel balanced and everything, it's just not quite as fast-paced as I would like. And I know that's not necessarily bad, I'm just still trying to figure out if I'm happy with it playing like that or not.

I'd always be happy to help man. Cutting that lift room did help a bit on less movement area. What about another tele? Or having that main deathpit smaller? @icyhotspartin if it's just the shits, could be what you ate, and you just have to wait it out.
You've probably tried it but maybe not... group the entire map or pieces of the map and save them as prefabs then load them onto a new file? You'll probably have to do a few adjustments, but it'd be better than rebuilding. --- Double Post Merged, Sep 4, 2017 --- I think at this point it's more about opening lines of sight between the outside and inside rather than cutting the size of the map. I'll be on again tonight we can play/tweak each other's maps again if you're down.
I've replaced a ton of objects and saved a lot. It looks worse, but I think I can save it. I noticed that replacing large objects that merge with other objects helps a lot. Still, I basically can't use more than 1450 objects, which is infuriating and incredibly stupid.
Encounters that start and end in one gun fight are boring, especially in a 1v1. As long as someone can continually 1up their enemy, it's okay to have drawn out fights. If you're just not finding each other then that's a different story but that's not what sounds like is happening
I wanted to make two 1v1 maps for this competition but with Destiny 1 coming out tomorrow it looks like thats not happening lol
Expansion 5 is supposed to be great! Sucks that I have to wait until October for it on PC. Hand cannons 4 dayzzzzz! Anyways, my 1v1 map might be a bit large, but simple. Still not sure if Tartarus' Gavel + Rain of Oblivion/Magnum yet. Vertical jump height will definitely effect mobility on it. I'm thinking that an abandoned radio tower plus facility. I'll probably make it an in use one instead. Not sure yet.
