1v1 Forge Contest Discussion

Would having a super-competitive friend help with weapon placement count as co-forging? Just wanna get the credit right.

 

I could only switch games that allow me to make maps. I so badly wanted destiny 2 to have a map editor. I guess I should look into pc games.

I'll stream when I play. Provide write ups on all the hard decisions I make. I won't however, take time to explain every single cut. Some maps are obviously bad for obvious reasons. But you can expect the top 10 or so to have my thoughts on them.

lol jk, but all jokes aside, the video was excellent, as I'm sure the contest will similarly be. Despite whoever ends up winning and losing, I think we can all agree that the eventual top 5 round up will be an immaculate result of hard work, pain-ridden testing and design, showcasing just how creative, bright and strong this community can be.

Can judges look at maps and play on them before submission to give feedback? I personally think this should not be allowed.

 

Mh, Huh i would partecipate but i have no idea how to make a 1v1 map. I'm not even good with balancing the map, i guess, so well, good luck to the others.

I'm going to have a hearty chuckle if someone accuses me of having judging bias during this tourney

 

Regarding the 1v1 tournament, I have a couple of questions:
1. Will more information on the tournament be posted later like how to sign up and potential prizes?
2. If you submit a map to the playlist and on the off chance it makes it into the top 5, are you still able to participate in the tournament?

Not so much bias as much as you helping someone fix a map you're judging.

I guess on the other side of that, it is fair as well. I'd say you are open to giving feedback to all maps before the judging phase.
It's similar to a teacher. Any student can come ask for help on their assignment, it's up to the student to go to the teacher. If they don't, it's not that the teacher was bias when the student who went for help does better, it's that the student who went for help improved because they took initiative.

Also, I'm not calling you a teacher and all of us your students you egoistic ****, was just an example. (;

 

Except a student can't ask for help during an exam, and that would be a much closer representation of this contest if you still want to use the teacher analogy.

 

Good point. I'm on board with not allowing judges to give feedback. I was just giving the other side of the argument.
