If it's for 1v1 that makes it even worse. How do you expect the map to have any integrity in a duel when youre getting sprayed down by a projection SMG
Yeah overpowered automatics have no place in 1v1's Which should be the same for everything else because Halo is built around 1v1 encounters but people can't seem to understand that
I always struggle to put Halo 5's weapons on my maps and I'm starting to wonder if it's actually a prblem with the maps, or if Halo 5 is just that bad. I like Halo because you can pick stuff up off the map, and placing weapons during the design phase used to be something I really enjoyed doing. But now I scroll through the list and don't want to have any of these on my maps. Damage Boost and Sentinel Beam are inoffensive, but I don't want to fight against anything else. The glorious return of the Grenade Launcher was marred by how stupidly easy it is to use like every other pickup, and even the Plasma Rifle is bullshit in this game - like how do you **** that up? Hopefully the weapon tuning update makes more of these weapons viable for 2v2 gameplay.
I expect a lot of the finalists maps to have basically no weapons on them, quite honestly. This is warning everyone. Be very, very tactful about what you place.
exactly why I'm making two versions one is precision-focused, the other is for fun times with crazy-ass weapons I am seriously considering keeping the powerups though, as those are driving gameplay around the map at breakneck speed
Whenever I see a Railgun on a 2v2 map, I know the Forger hasn't actually tested it. Doesn't matter how low the ammo is, a pick up shouldn't be a guaranteed point and click kill
The same thing that's wrong with the Halo CE Pistol. They took a weapon that used to be skillful and made it idiot proof. It really depends on the map though. I actually really like Rockets for 2v2 in this game provided the map is very vertical and open. I'd prefer it to a Grenade Launcher most of the time because it's slower moving and can't be detonated in mid air. It really comes down to how the person plays with the weapon.
so, as I mentioned: there is the "fun version, with the above weapon list then there is the hardcore version, with only: - 2 tactical magnums, 1 clip each, more or less on either side of the chasm, on a 40-45 second respawn - plasma pistol on the floaty thing, 45% energy on a 50 second respawn - sentinel beam at bottom lift, 35% energy on a 70 second respawn swapped tree speedboost for lift damage boost added ammo locker to replace gunfighter spawn
I think that it's weird that my map Khaled Shazur plays 1v1 better than 3v3, it's originally intended player count. Maybe I'll submit it. Also Multi said he'd look at it two weeks ago but still hasn't Edit: the current weapon layout: -Endgame @ 75%(will be 25%) @120s(will be 60s) -Energy Sword @25% @120s(will be 90s) -Camo I @120s(will be Overshield I @90s) -to add: Plasma Pistol @45% @90s
Halo 5 is the best! Just look at how tacticool that fight was. So much risk vs. reward at play. Let me break it down. You see, Multilock0n had an interesting choice in that encounter. He could've just kept running and spartan charged, thrown a grenade, or maybe even use his pistol! However, he chose to go with the ultimate RISK versus REWARD scenario, in which he sacrificed all of his movement by crouching to have a tighter spread on his AR. This is just scratching the surface of Halo 5's depth. I'd like to start a design talk series on how to utilize the near infinite tactical applications of this games wonderful sandbox! Here's those reflection probe, lighting sphere, thingies. Saved by yours truly as a prefab for use guys to grab and use. It had to be grouped with a second item so that it could be saved as a prefab, of course. These are not visible while you are in Spartan Mode, unfortunately. Monitor mode only. Until the H5 beta where grenades had bullet magnetism and then kept getting shot out of people's hands every fight. So instead of removing the magnetism they made it so you can't shoot nades anymore.
