After seeing an article in the paper of the "new dangerous, potentially fatal" hobby catching on throughout the nation i knew i had to get into urban exploring. This is my first "proper" as the only others ive done are fairly short tunnels the longest being a few hundred yards. Anyway Bangour Village Hospital is an old and now disused mental hospital. It closed in 1992 after running for over 90 years and still stands abandoned. The video shows various buildings throughout the area. Personally, I don't think the pictures truely convey just how eery this place is, yet also amazing at the same time. Heres the link to the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyZfWJMr494 Also if this interested you check out: www.28dayslater.co.uk Best urban exploring site out there, and also has guides for beginners, pics of other urban explores and more.
I remember I did something like this before me and a bunch of friends broke into and old abandoned hospital it was really creepy so we just took some old stuff and left almost got caught by guard dogs too.
Interestingly enough we found alot there, including a proper full riot sheild and police tape. We usually take one thing to keep to remind us of being there, but we thought its a bit insulting cos bangour really is a seriously sad place to visit. As your walking around it hard to believe that people had to psend there whole lifes there and even died there.
I've done this before, but it was at night and it shat us up, it was damn scary and there was 6 of us.
i made a movie some years back where i acted like my house was some old abandoned hospital and when i got to the kitchen area, ground beef had been lain out for dinner, i pretended it was a brain. lol im funny when im 12 ;D
lol i probably wouldve done something similar when i was younger. But visiting the place was amazing, yet seriously creepy. Atleast not somewhere id go at night lol
Have to ask does anyone else here do proper urban exploring? Just wondering since i only know a few folk in real.
I heard somewhere 360 acres. It was big when we were inside but i think the 360 acres is due to the land around it aswel. Anyway anymore comments?
I enjoyed that. If you are running on a PC try downloading Photostory and you can get some nice photo effects for movies like this. It really adds a professional look to the video.
Thanks, ill definetly look into that. I'm going down again on Sunday to look for ways in to the various buildings there, hopefully will come back with enough pics for another vid. Could use some music suggestions though! Thanks for all the comments so far.
I suppose I do sometimes with friends we go to abandond places but we don't take pictures we just walk aoound and try to freak each other out.
Most urban explorers just take pictures to sort of "document" places. I know that makes it sound boring, but in reality making it to the places to get pics is the fun and adreanaline building part lol
Hmm it looks good, but i cant seem to do much on the website. When i looked into it on google it said it the website was closed from posting? is it true?
yea sorry, ill take the link down soon. Unfortuantly they have closed down posting, but will remain as a place to forever archive past explores. Another website called www.28wl.co.uk has appeared as a place for people to continue posting explores.
