I'm not saying he's trying to be insidious, but I see nothing constructive out of simply stating that he believes Ace can do better. It would be constructive to state how Ace could make it better. Truthful feedback is important for sure. But, vague truthful feedback without explanation is basically useless.
Oh man remember Hyena using this while sniping. On snowbound he does this within a killionaire I believe. Insane. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 11, 2017 --- Sweet. I made it to Twitter. But I must add, it's not finished.
I guess part of it would be your wording. The notion that something has to "impress you" is pompous. It seems, to you, generic means that a map has A. No terrain B. No or limited soft connections C. No gimmick But it's mainly that you've provided no explanation as to why you deem this map unimpressive, and how he could alleviate that.
came up with a cool map idea but it's basically the bastard child of oblivion and storm peaks and i don't want to be that guy
Xzamples. You have been nothing less than a gentleman in almost all your arguments but now it seems you're just looking for trouble. If they know eachother for 10 years I think Ace can handle Multi's 'feedback'. I mean this in a good way and I should probably stay out of this. Where's my coffee?
I appreciate that. I guess the notion that people should strive to impress you (in a general sense) just seems arrogant. Like I said to Multi, it was mainly the wording that seemed poorly chosen. And I mean no ill intent. I was actually glad Multi felt that way about his older posts, because it shows growth. And I also feel that way about my past posts. With that knowledge, I think we should both make an effort not to feel the same way about our current posts in the future.
He didn't say that everyone has to impress him. He told Ace that he knew Ace could impress him. There's a difference and I think you knew that.
actually ya know what **** you guys. i'm gonna stop scrapping maps just because they're similar to other people's maps.
So remember that docks WIP I posted a while back? Was inspired by @MultiLockOn on that og forerunner aesthetic and I think I can go a whole new direction with the art and layout --- Double Post Merged, Aug 11, 2017 --- Think lock outs little sister
I'd be curious to see this next to a few other major studios. Does the strain of the industry create a difficult work environment or is it purely management? edit: Does it show anywhere else how many people have submitted to the data pool?
I don't have a definition of a boring map outside of the fact that it's boring. None of those qualifiers you listed mean anything to me.
i had to change the colors to white to understand it. default forge colors makes me feel like i'm in a shipping warehouse. anyway, it's definitely too small for 2v2, but the main thing that concerns me is that you have a middle walkway that can bounce back and forth between the map. assuming all the walls are in place, i think i could break all the spawns by just running along that middle line. the teleporter also feels unnecessary when you can watch it from the top middle and run to its location fairly quick anyway. seems like its only use is to port right behind a guy watching the bottom. i do like that it's in the middle of the floor though; it makes it a bit more interesting than the 180 lift nearby. that's all i can say without seeing the art.
What is worth looking to at is whether is creativity if something is that be explained to even when can't we don't have deterministic explanations to as could that what means. Ace posted maps a that shown but never so much as to could even be what any unique or characteristics and defining to the give maps character. Does that make sense?
