Yeah, just don't confuse people by calling it a "Classic" Playlist. It was never advertised as Classic. Either "CE Anniversary" or "CE Anniversary Throwback", or as i like to put it, "The CE Nostalgia Playlist".
@NOKYARD I have it listed as Throwback Playlist --- Double Post Merged, Aug 3, 2017 --- We still need the authors of the 2v2's and the full list of maps and authors for throwback

https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/halo-15th-anniversary-celebration It clearly labels them as the Anniversary Throwback Playlist. The classic playlist is coming soon.
It'd be cool if I could play some of these maps, instead of getting the same 5 every time I play. Only if there was a system that allowed Spartans and Dino's to vote on what map they wanted to play. Hear me out, it may sound crazy, but I have a feeling it would work better than just shitting out a gametype and a map at random. You search matchmaking, you find a game, the pregame lobby is formed. A map is chosen by the hamsters running the servers, and it's the same damn one that always gets randomly chosen... What a shame, looks like we're playing ****ing Snowbo... WAIT! Wtf is this revolutionary option that is clearly shown with a convenient countdown to show how many seconds the player has to act on it before the option is locked - that can (get this) CHANGE THE MAP!? WHAT!? You get a map, it's one people tend to not like. Cool. So it's chosen. You're ****ed. Looks like you got to dashboard or leave the fireteam you may or may not be in. Nope. You can hold 'X' on your Xbox One next-generation controller and VOTE to VETO SKIP a map! The game skips that SHITTY map NO ONE want some to play, and picks another map, potentially better, or potentially shittier. Wow, what a time to be alive. No going back now, you're stuck with this new map. 'Well, that sounds like a dumb system. I'd rather just let 343's super advanced system pick a random (it's not so ****ing random... Half the maps in matchmaking in Halo 5/MCC are rarely (like 5% chance) played, because it is clearly not 'random', because you can easily predict what maps you won't ever get, and there are like 5 you can bet your life you will get...) map to play on. That way, no one gets their way and it's all down to what 343 wants.' Kind of like how they make their games. Ok, so do what Halo: Reach did almost ****ing 8 years ago would more likely be a better option. When a map gets chosen by the game, give players the option to vote on 4 other options! 3 of the options being different maps (and gametypes, depending on the playlist), and the last option being a 'RANDOM' (NOT THIS 343 BULLSHIT 'RANDOM' EITHER) option that let's the game choose a random map, like Halo ****ing 3 like the previous idea. (R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.A.R.Y S.T.U.F.F.) This gives players more freedom to choose what they want to play in matchmaking. If a bunch of people aren't voting (maybe they're away from their Xbox or they're fighting with their year older sibling over the mic and screaming at the top of their lungs (T for Teen everyone)), and if they're feeling a bit spicy, they can choose that random option and either get something better, worse, or just as mediocre. This has would ruin friendships, and it would make for some laughable moments. Crazy ideas, I know. But there's no way of telling if they would work or not because they haven't been done in the previous Halo games since 2007 (Halo 3) and 2010 (Halo: Reach), and even 2009 (Halo 3: ODST). Wishful thinking I guess. Can't wait for Dino's to return, splitscreen, decent (not good, baby steps) customization, true ranking system, and I guess everything that made Halo, Halo, to return in Halo 6. 2 steps forward, 343 steps back. Anyways.
Jeaze, I would've imagined that of all places, people here would have been happy to hear that over 100 community maps have passed through matchmaking. I'm all for people expressing their opinions but that isn't what this thread's about ya'll. Try to be positive for once
Great maps, great map rotation, happy to have played every one numerous times. ... Some of the aesthetics are nice? Accompanied with the frame rate dips that accompany them? I can't do it.
Voting is terrible because then you only play the same top 5 maps every time. Veto is the best way to go.
Okay, no one in their right mind heard the words "Anniversary Throwback Playlist" with Halo CE Maps and DIDN'T think it would be classic settings so let's stop playing that card. It was absolutely assumed. When they revealed it on stream and everyone collectively laughed at how shitty their settings looked, THEN 343 freaked out and said "No no no but wait we have a reeaaall classic playlist coming" which they didn't. Because later that day they started contacting forgers asking them for classic settings gametypes in a hurry. They just looked like idiots and then lied (again) about their intentions/plans. Well let's look at how many of these maps are actually being utilized currently, and effectively. Breakout is literally irrelevant and I couldn't care less if there were 99999 forge maps in that playlist. Obviously Action Sack and Griffball are going to be forge maps. Infection the same (thought it took them a year and a half). Doubles was there 1+ year into the game for 2 months and has been gone ever since. What does that leave us with current forge maps being used in a relevant way. Orion Pegasus and White Cell. And BTB maps. BTB they LITERALLY didn't have a choice, they ****ed up. Orion and Pegasus 2 were their maps that Black Picture remade, it doesn't even count as a forge map lmao. They were put in because 343 had already made them and someone reforged them. The only single map that can actually have any claim to fame in Halo 5 is @Chronmeister White Cell. That's it. It's the only forge map that's ever been a ranked playlist [that's worth a damn] and stayed there. 1 map. I could give a **** about everything else because 343 didn't really have a choice. Doubles WOULD be relevant if they didn't remove them..... but they did.
@Ascend Hyperion do we know if all of these maps are on ForgeHub, if so can the staff help out and find the links for them. One other thing, it would be good to get this list composed on the Wiki as well.
That is not true. Ghost had proposed to head up a proper H2/H3 classic/no spartan abilities playlist over a year ago (we discussed it while auditioning Throwback maps). [more later, i have to go out now]
I'm sure he did recommend a classic playlist. But the fact is I specifically remember the live stream of the Anniversary Playlist reveal and the entire chat was laughing their ass off at how pathetic it looked. The reception was awful. And it would be a very strange coincidence that later that same day Unyshek contacted Martian in a hurry saying that Quinn was requesting true classic settings asap. I have no doubt that it was recommended. Whether or not a classic playlist would have ever happened without the horrible reception to the Anniversary throwback playlist, I don't know. But let's not pretend like the Anniversary playlist was always intended to be its own thing, because I'm not even going to humor that discussion. It wasn't. No one was expecting some ridiculous core Halo 5 settings w/ CE Magnum.
