Here's something else I'm wanting to do. http://i.imgur.com/AgRCQwq.gifv http://i.imgur.com/48IHfTp.gifv
@Dunco I was originally kidding, but at least now I can nail down that you're just another angsty **** who tries way too hard to be 3 edgy 5 me. I mean, when Warholic himself "sees something in you" and promotes someone that fast, I would bet my bottom dollar that they're either a **** (like you) or just a mentally handicapped ****wit that he identifies with (also like you) And while we're on the subject of bad aesthetics... https://www.forgehub.com/maps/bandit-island.5265/ Hooray for mediocrity! Unfortunately for you, being an incredibly average forger looks almost worse than sucking in this case. Just take a look at those interiors! Truly inspiring crate work you have there. The really comical part is that you said my doors looked like they came from a clan map... did you mean this? Ahahahaha https://www.forgehub.com/maps/lazarus-pit.1757/ Did someone say tacky lighting? I don't know what else to say that your ugly ass maps don't already say for me. None of this even comes close to touching the fact that "all you can do are blockouts" is an inherently stupid insult used by people who couldn't design their way out of a ****ing paper bag. Sigh. I don't like getting into petty arguments like this where all we do is throw insults back and forth, but if you're going to start it, I'm going to oblige. Especially since your entire portfolio is a cesspool of exceptionally mediocre aesthetics and even worse designs.
Oh, Xandrith is cranky again. Yo, @icyhotspartin this is what I was kinda, sorta getting at with what I felt Sketchy needed. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Ascend Hyperion/video/34708233 The biggest thing is that the map lacked solid/comfortable ground to fight on. Running, jumping, clambers, it's all cool but we can't spend 85% of the time doin' it haha. I sloppily grouped and copied some stuff yo express some raw ideas to ya;.
Just rename this to the argument page, I have no idea why I come here anymore, I just want to see some ****ing maps. No one really shows off work, they just *****. I have to go past multiple pages to see a shred of work from anyone. Its just dudes talking about map design yet never releasing jack ****, people would rather attack eachother over dumb ****. Referring to the history of someones forge maps as a "portfolio" this is why I constantly feel the need to make fun of everyone, I wasn't aware this was a job.
We could go back and forth pointing out the **** work each of us has put out but why waste my time when everyone already knows you're just some coattail riding ****boi. I'm flattered you took the time to research the insults you'd throw my way though.
Dunco randomly attacked me and my maps after an obvious joke earlier, yet nobody even blinked. I respond, and all of the sudden the waywo is a cesspool of toxicity? I'm not buying that ****. Especially since there have actually been a lot of map posts lately. You don't have to release anything to prove yourself, at least not to me. See @A 3 Legged Goat You literally have a "works" section on Forgehub. It's the same thing as a portfolio. --- Double Post Merged, Aug 2, 2017 --- Oh I promise, I wouldn't dare spend too much time on you. I just picked two maps randomly, which makes this even funnier ahahaha
if anyone wanted to attempt that whole fantasy dock idea, you could theoretically put it over grass instead of water. then you'd have some fun rolling terrain to play with.
Like the water level dropped and an island kinda grew up into it? That could add a lot easier pathing than getting some magic scripting cranes to work
Hmm. I was much more inspired by the shape of the map than the aesthetic, although I honestly don't think it would be that bad. Maybe by your standards it would be, but you have to understand that any non-forger probably wouldn't even realize if it was on glacier, lmao Just set it to sunset on tidal with high distance fog up so it would be like a foggy morning in some Spanish place with a cliff to one side. Even then it would probably have to be a 1v1 map but we have like 1 of those total so I wouldn't mind --- Double Post Merged, Aug 2, 2017 --- Oh, also, I forgot to tell whoever posted that blockout inspired by that dock picture... you should delete the bottom level or rework it. Try to have a couple paths that at least force players down there, or have some sort of sightline control available to the players on the bottom. If you just have 3 segmented levels on top of eachother, it'll play like construct where the only reason to be on the bottom level is of you had to drop for cover or if you spawned there.
It's not so much "my standards" as it is what the map is trying to convey. You could swap the aesthetic and keep the shape, but what is the map at that point? Either a dungeon, a hopeless amalgamation of junk and scrap heaps, or a distilled version of the original concept. Someone can take the shape and try something else, but you're just not getting a map like that in Forge On that note, the concept gave me an idea for a map that I wanna try, but is it worth going out and buying xbox live...
