Are those grapes or skittles? Trying to get a feel for the scale You have a gift being able to draw what you visualize. I'd be drawing maps all the time if I had that ability. The map looks pretty sick as well. I'm getting a Relic vibe with the nat geo surrounding the lone, towering structure.
The way I see it, you have two options based on the current shape of the map: you either add playspace in front to triangulate the map, whereby the death pit becomes the middle; OR, you bulk up the back of the map, whereby the tower/transition into the bridge becomes the middle. I personally like the second option better, because then you can push people off of the tower and onto the terrain behind. Or they can jump onto that small plataeu. If you went with the first option, the tower becomes an annoying power position and people will just cross map across the death pit. If that's what you want, then you have to figure out how to balance the tower, most likely through rock-paper-scissors where your areas counter each other. Don't be that guy who puts a receiver node up there. Also, what player count?
Hah! No teleporters this time, but I do want the perilous edgewalk along the bottom side - I agree that backloading it is best, and the addition of the spooky cliff walk for nades or flanking is a spicy addition that is ultimately easy to eliminate if it's a problem 2v2 with plasma pistol, heavy storm rifle, and a scattershot (locations to be determined)
You can put ledges anywhere within the center, or do a bridge from the tower over that ledge if you decide to put playspace back there.
Ahahaha we played his other 2v2 last night goat, and it had a grenade launcher, Sniper, Shotgun, Halo 1 pistol, Overshield and Sentinel beam lmao Having a lot of pickups on a map is cool, but it just doesn't work when every weapon is bullshit
Yea let's get one thing clear - in 99% of circumstances, the halo 5 sandbox sucks in 2v2s. I had an Overshield, Damage Boost, Beam Rifle, Plasma RIfle, Plasma Caster, 2 Carbines and a Needler on Spellbound. I don't know how I managed.
So lightmap has anally destroyed me, leaving an un healable gaping tear in my Sword Base map and I'm at a complete loss on how to fix it and finish the map. It's honestly not worth fighting the engine just to finish a map that'll never be played so moving on. I want to leave the community with 1 good map that represents what I'm capable of. Since BTB maps actually get put into MM and I'm good at designing them, I'd love if you guys left some ideas or concept art here for what you'd like to see out of a new BTB map from me.

No, no it's not. In 2v2, a Plasma Pistol is a power weapon. Your map seems to have a lot of floor space, so you can use a Plasma Rifle, a Grenade Launcher (for players on the bottom to shoot at players on higher ledges), or a Hydra in its place, and then a Sentinel Beam, or Light Rifle in its place if you want a dedicated sniper rifle without giving people an actual sniper rifle. Honestly, you could probably have a rocket launcher on the map too. You can use whatever you want of course, but you should first ask yourself how the weapon would make somebody play, and whether you would want to fight and die to that weapon off your spawn over and over on your map. You give someone a Plasma Pistol, and now all of your long ranged battles are noob combo fests. Give them a Storm Rifle, and now they're sitting around a corner waiting to shoot you in the back, which is the exact same exact thing you do with an AR, only the Heavy Storm Rifle is 3x as good.
I don't want to finish an artistically gimped version of the map just so this **** ass lighting system can render things properly. I could absolutely make it playable but without heavily compromising? Hell no. I need to play more 2v2 first so I can make something I'll like. To be honest the only time I've really enjoyed this game, like really really enjoyed it, was on my BTB map Den Of Thieves. Everything else is just not that fun for me. Idk. H5 bores the **** out of me . Yea... the map is based on the principal of a huge ass skylight window. It'd be devestaing to lose that.
I mean i dont know what people expected when they got hitscan, overpowered weapons, and defensive movement abilities. It's not fun unless you're playing the clusterfucks it was designed for
Bullet magnetism is what gets me, those missile and gauss turrets just **** me up every time across distances where you can't even see the other player
