So I got this idea right now and I had to share it before I forget. I was watching a youtube video of people playing a dayz map in halo and I personally never played any of those maps and/or knew how they worked at the time other than it was a huge battle royale ffa sort of thing where you can make alliances with people. And before watching the video, I was thinking how the extermination gametype can be expanded upon and then I thought up about this idea. Imagine a similar scenario of the battle royale theme except you are automatically put on to teams of two which you can obviously pick at the start of the match, and the idea of being the last team standing still plays out but instead of being completely knocked out of the match when you die, you could have one of two things: You can go the extermination route and have it so when your teammate dies you have to stay alive for a specific period of time to allow your teammate to respawn later (Obviously the period of time would be longer than 15 seconds to accommodate the size of the maps, so maybe like 1 or 2 minutes?), or somehow script it so where you need to kill someone else for your teammate to respawn. The first one has the problem of players just camping and waiting it out but this can be balanced by maybe having a waypoint above the players head visible only from a certain distance. Of course a lot of balancing would need to come into effect but I think that would be such a fun and intense gamemode to play. Of course I'm not the best at scripting but I feel with some complicated way and a sh*t ton of script brains, it could be possible. We already have it set for 2 teams. Of course I might be a little optimistic but just a thought I needed to share.
@Max Extra Correct if I'm wrong but wouldn't you just need minor adjustments to the Exterm rig to pull either of these options off?
You could do this with the extermination scriptbrains as a base, but it really isnt a minor change to do what you want. Exterm only does Red v Blue, you would need to have a tracker for each team, but this could be done.
Is your extermination spreadsheet and google doc about the scripts up to date? I'm trying to dissect it so I can possibly figure this out if I can
