Seth was responsible for giving the top 10 maps from the 2v2 list to 343, not Xzamplez. 343 chose Malta over Heads Up and Oryxgens. And I promise you they would have chosen it over some of the more creative maps such as Legion. Personally, looking back over the list, it's possible that Sadie and Smokestack could have been top 10 contenders, but that wouldn't dilute the pool too much considering that almost all of the rest of the maps were unrefined despite being more creative or "less campy" than the finalists. Seth has mentioned before that he regretted putting Malta in there because 343 liked it more than some of the other maps. If you're basing this whole feud around Xzamplez's role in the 2v2 contest, you've got the wrong guy man. The playlist was more or less 343's decision.

This is 99% just about him not admitting anything. The results and the playlist themselves are irrelevant. It's all in fun. Also a joke, my man. No harm meant.
If ya'll want to call Xzamplez out for his debating skills, then that's up to you. I'd just rather not see Malta be the butt of that joke anymore. Malta was one of the maps all of the judges looked forward to testing because we all thought it was one of the more interesting maps submitted. I believe I was the only one who didn't get a chance to play on it to notice the spawning problems, but beyond the visual repetitiveness and weapon layout, nothing else was held against it during the voting. I think the biggest issue with the 2v2 contest is that it was held at a time when most people didn't understand how Halo 5 actually played. If we did, perhaps more of the maps submitted would have been viable. Then it wouldn't have mattered if 343 interfered because we'd have had a more solid pool to pick from.
