I've heard the exact opposite. Following a formula is the quickest way to get stuck doing the same thing.
Remakes will always have a special place in my heart. Part of it is nostalgia and part of it is if it's well forged. EDIT: To add on in the context of Midship, in my opinion, a map doesn't have to be GOOD to be FUN. Epilogue and Uncaged also fall under this category.
I've got a public file, Heretic 2, if you want to look at it. If you can't find it let me know. Salty said he couldn't find it earlier, but I know I marked it public last night.
Yeah I'm jk. Everyone always flames people for making 2B2T "Midship Clones" so now that somebody literally made a Midship clone I had to say it. Looks sweet.
Uncaged was fun to you? I just thought it was a terrible map, bottom to top. The openness and verticality were interesting, but it wasn't an enjoyable map for me. I really liked the rocket spawn, though.
It's mainly the memories of shiting on scrandies. Dominating the long-side with snipe, running head first up to the top-roundabout, racing to the dead end with Rocks, hiding from people in the Carney-hole. Fun times. PS: No, I never used Jet Pack, I'm not a ******. Sprint or Hologram for me.
