I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that politics will always drive people to hardline positions, because it is the nature of politicians and those with power to compromise. The more compromises, the more some people are going to get less of what they perceive to be correct (most people look at policy from the same kind of 'necessity'-based groundings as BrotasticBear) either for themselves or for others, and therefore there will come a point where some group will feel the only way to get what thy want is through hardlining. Obviously I can't give you the specifics on the threshold necessary to generate these views, but it seems to happen regardless of how well a 'democratic' system functions.

Possible unpopular opinion, but WWII actually looks like it's innovating in the right direction while also pushing decent fan service (Minus the whole female soldier and swastika diabolical). I think this is going to be the most out-of-formula CoD in a while. They said Zombies will be akin to Dead Space's survival horror mentality, so I'm kind of hyped to see this is not going to have a copy-paste Treyarch formula like Exo and IW Zombies.
The fact that they are censoring swastikas and putting women in the American army to be politically correct makes me sick. If the final game is like that, I won't be buying the ****.
