But how will I get to Santa Monica from Dallas? I can get to DAYTOOOONNAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! easily, but not Cali.
Scorpio is expected to come out at a pretty solid $500. Original estimates had it even lower until they released the specs. I understand where you are coming from when you say you could buy used parts but we're comparing a new machine to a new machine. If we want to have the used argument I could just say wait a month and save up to $100 on a used Scorpio. With PC's I personally buy half used, half new parts depending on the pricing and timing of sales. I would consider a mint controller but I'm not as anxious to throw down for most used PC peripherals unless they are toss away cheap. I would never buy a used PSU - - EVER. I would recommend against a used HDD and sure you can get a cheap ass used case but how is that going to compare to the pretty little beast comfortably snugged into a crevice near my TV. I'm not saying that Microsoft rules, or that everyone has to get excited for the Scorpio and worship it as the next coming. I'm just irritated by the constant argument that people could build 10 times the machine for less. It's just not true. Sure it may be true a few years later, but not at launch. You can build a machine cheaper or better but you can't do both, and no matter what you do you won't be building it smaller unless you give up on cost and customization. It might have if you had said, "I would only buy Scorpio if . . . ." I could just as easily say it's from Sony, Google, Apple, or Linux. No one is exactly a clear win in all regards. If I was going to be stuck with only one of these choices I'd have to take Microsoft. All things considered they're still the most compatible choice.
From the first playtests of Castle Wars "Reforged" on Xbox One last night. Just a quick clip that my son saved after what is, so far, the most epic moment in testing. There is even a quick glimpse of the cannon ball landing and exploding at the very end. Flag Ground Pound Interception For anyone able to help. This is not crashing on xbox, but is consistently crashing on PC. Please see the thread in the Forge Topics... (and would appreciate any constructive feedback and playtests of your own) Bonus Clip - Mongoose roll/flip/splatter
I think you may have missed the point on a pc v console. I would spend twice for a pc over a console because the pc isn't just a console. I don't think I will ever be able to bring myself to purchase an Xbox ever again after MCC.
My xbone plays games, movies, and what i play all my streaming apps through (cus why even cable?). Console is good for home entertainment purposes. PC is for PC stuff
As Dunco says, the console isn't just a console anymore. If it weren't for a number of RTS and or RPG games, I would consider just docking my phone for all my PC needs. It's not like I need a kickass PC for email, browsing the web, or editing pictures. I think we're at the point where the mobile phone / dock combo is going to start replacing full fledged PC's for the average user. If Microsoft wants to actually sell their mobile phones they should be hitting that aspect up hard. People still don't feel like a PC is a PC unless it's running Windows. Microsoft needs to make a serious dent in there before that mentality changes more than it already has.
Ok I see for many console is good enough. But I need a PC for game development and other things PC. Whatever I get for PC must be capable of playing games well and then more. So I am forced into the investment.
I see that becoming one of the main purposes of going high end PC. I think it would be cool if you could dock your phone in that Sci Fi way where your mobile device integrates into the system and suddenly becomes 10 times more powerful. Think Nintendos Switch but way more powerful. Krypton was so ahead of the times.
I don't know man. You are not even on my list and I know how to hide what game I am on so... all of this is bullshit
A controller is almost always easier to use than a mouse & keyboard. with the exception of RTS games @civ5 I fackin' sed it m8 --- Double Post Merged, May 31, 2017 --- so would your parents im terribly sorry In all seriousness, that would be a great feature.
Everyone I have talked to says OW is easier to aim on PC than console and with my 5 minutes of PC time I have to agree. I do think moving around is harder.
I actually wrote a great response to this but after reading it I decided its wayyyyy too vulgar even for this place and am subbing in this gif instead: consider this my good deed for the week.
I'm actually planning on completely revamping/upgrading my entire setup. I'm saving up to do it all when I build a new pc in the next year or two. I'm really tired of seeing all of the "modern" desktop gaming setups with LED's and other tacky crap. Mine will be almost entirely woodworking with a nice leather chair with beige walls. It might have some fancy lighting, but no neon bullshit.
