    I hate this in the best way. Actually, for real I loved this map in H3. Nice job! I hope to see it in the upcoming community playlist. Now make Highground so we aren't stuck with Ducains! LOL!

    When I was scrolling down I couldn't even notice the difference between the screenshots (thought they were duplicated and was going to report to the mods haha)

    What a HAWT map. The real question is, do the big guns shoot at you if you try to flee the map? ;)

    There is a gap if you walk into inner mid from the main outer entry and turn left. It is where the wall and ceiling meet, I can throw grenades in there.

    The map looks really good, but shouldn't the outer parts of the base be a plum / purple color and not gray?

    Also, if you could add terrain leaving the map somewhat like the original, even if it was faked out well. The obvious drop in terrain is very abrupt and really pulls me out of the map, it is a little thing, however the guns would make more sense. It is really the only area that seems unfinished.

    This is something I would very much like to implement.


    I think the gap has been fixed. Adding terrain is something I would very much like to do, however with the impending framerate issues, that's why the terrain is the way it is. I've tried optimizing it to use less pieces multiple times, and I finally got to a point where it was difficult to find anything else that could be optimized.


    The exterior and interior of the bases are the same color purple. They both use “Twilight Violet” which is a much darker purple. I had changed them to a brighter purple at one point, but changed it back because all the other purples were far too bright, and it just didn't look right in my opinion.

    Even just adding two large pieces of terrain? Making it seem as if it just goes further out?

    I found if you want to update the automated turrets there is a destructible piece (overload station if I remember correctly) that actually looks pretty good there. Also ungroup all the turrets and other pieces you can on the map to improve framerate. It said there was about 28 groups. The lower bottom mid base is a little short for ceiling height and that room was all flat and smooth in the original. The Dusty Plum color as the primary map color swaps the bases to almost the exact right shade and provides a really nice contrast, but you gotta fix the pipes color that runs through overshield if you swap just the primary color. Also a few of the bases tower pieces would need to be swapped to the primary color. I love that you matched the sunlight angle and that skybox almost looks identical to the original H3's.

    Im gonna try and make it happen, but I cannot make any guarantee.


    I tried making the turrets out of those much earlier into making this map, I hate the way they look. I really wanted these or some other covenant piece to work, but there wasn't anything I could find that resembled the look of the original.

    Not quite sure what you mean with the bottom mid base being short. And all the ramps and inclines in bottom mid were there in the original.

    Im also not very open to changing the colors of the bases. Had a few people join in to get some opinions before I finished the map, and everyone including me preferred the darker twilight violet.

    I agree with not having better covenant options for the turrets, but the current ones look out of place on the map with such a basic shape to them. The darker twilight might be a "preferred" color, but you went through all that hard work to match the rest of the map and not make the major iconic part of what makes that map (the bases) not match the original. What we think looks better isn't what the original looked like you know? Is it just a color, but for most that is like saying it's ok to have a Guardian map all blue or a Lockout that is all green cause people think it looks better you know? The map looks awesome, but what I meant was ceiling height "cave" main area feels a little low when you jump.

    Assuming you are talking about this area, that is how it was in Halo 3, you just barely didn't hit your head when entering.
