A PvE mode. Like I said I played Uprising nonstop when it was out. It was extremely repetitive and the best composition was the same 6 characters every time, but I still had way more fun doing that than any of the other casual PvP modes because the action was more intense and death had more consequences. And with a PvE mode, you aren't coming face to face with toxic competitive crowds. But I think Overwatch is lost on me at this point. I frankly can't stand what's becoming of its community and how you more or less can't have issues with the game. As someone who bought and once enjoyed Overwatch I feel completely alienated every time I discuss it with people. Like "oh you don't like the game? Well you're just playing it wrong."
Bastion Mercy Reinhardt Orisa Torb Zenyatta Dva and Lucio were okay picks depending on how good they were. Unless you want to bring up the whole tier thing. I think the problem is that Overwatch is basically first person Smash Bros and the Smash community pretty much **** on me instantly the minute I talked about the game. Hero games are ****ing cancer.
God didn't create evil, if that's what you're getting at. It's a pretty common argument, but it's also been debunked. I'll give you the short version from a Christian perspective. God created man, whose purpose is to know and love him. Sure, he could have made us love him, but God only wants perfect love, which we can only give by choice. And so, with perfect free will, man can also choose to sin. Knowing that man, no matter how "good", will always eventually choose sin, God gave another way around Judgement. Christ. Correlation (in this case, the parallel between creation and evil) does not equal causation (Mans choice to sin) Anyways, I'm back from my one day ban and I obviously have not learned my lesson. I want to post pictures, but Kingsbane has been coming along really slowly and I don't want to show much off until I have done some lighting.
Holy **** (ayyyye a pun!) dude. I was just making a joke. I know you can write paragraphs on every ****ing topic. We get it. Your parents introduced you to religion and you dig it. Cool. I don't need a lesson in **** I had to grow up hearing about. Just get me something neat for x mas. I guess I'll go back and read what you actually wrote since you did take the time to type it out. Edit: okay I read it and it's exactly what I thought you'd say. Still think if there is a sky daddy he's gotta have a wicked sense of humor.
That's why I don't play competitive either. Has nothing to do with me not being good at games or whatever. I just don't want to deal with cancerous Overwatch elitists.
I wish there was a forum somewhere to discuss video games from a design perspective. Like really get in depth about it. Most people discuss games from a consumer perspective and that's cool and all, but it's difficult for the people who take it further than that to have common ground during discussions since the former are more likely to say "well, it's just a video game, you don't have to play it, it might not be for you" and what not. And that's fair from a consumer perspective, but when you're dissecting mechanics and philosophy and other facets of design, it's one of the most annoying dismissals, and frankly why these two groups never see eye to eye even if they agree on something. Alas, these communities don't exist or they're ridiculously small. I don't think even ForgeHub qualifies because there are probably 7 people who would engage in that kind of discussion here, and one half currently can't talk to the other half.
Well you are. The game can be played by casuals and it has some replay value but the game was designed for esports and if you don't like competitive games you'll get sick of Overwatch. You talk about talking about design but you are bitching about a game and a specific community when it was made for that community. All you talk about when it comes to design, is look and feel. Stick to art. Because you don't understand what a target audience is. Also, the game is nothing like smash bros other than it has characters and is cartoony. That is such a surface level perspective.
Separate from ForgeHub's Discord? One to talk about the philosophy of game design without the consumer perspective? I'm down. I just created a discord: https://discord.gg/9PPu9C
