everyone here preaches about how important financial literacy is, right? Not properly raising a child with these important values is neglect then. If you look carefully, I highlighted the parts of the definition that refers to emotional harm and neglect, not physical harm. I didnt think I could make it any more obvious for you, yet you still missed it.. didnt know citing actual definitions was "anecdotal crap" lmao link me some more of those tabloids telling me how important love is for financial stability.
My God. Using your own logic, quite literally every shortcoming as a parent could be labeled as neglect and therefore child abuse. Do you not see how ridiculous that is? I'm going to bed now. I'm looking forward to catching back up on the wall of stupidity that is sure to come.
Yes because I'm sitting here frothing at the mouth. No I'd just rather not waste time taking to idiots. No one ever said poor parenting doesn't play a role. But regardless, that argument boils down to lack of discipline or drive to work hard. Which is laziness. You could go pro for strawmanning complete nonsense though.
Experience is significantly more valuable than what you research on the internet, Xandrith. It's the book smart vs street smart argument: A medical student may know all the terminology and procedures, but still be a complete failure in practice. You and I are fortunate enough to have the opportunities that our parents have given us to start our lives right. Imagine you're on your own at 16-18 because your poor parents can't afford to support you anymore. Now you, a person with no prior experience, has to find a job that will pay for an apartment. Tell me how easy it would be, to not only stay out of debt, but improve your living arrangement.
Are you actually suggesting that statistical evidence is less valuable than personal experience? Here, this should help you out. Anecdotal: (of an account) Not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research. It doesn't matter what you and I think or feel. What matters is what you can prove and disprove. For the millionth time, It wouldn't matter if I were Bill Gates or Mother Teresa. What I have is in absolutely no way a reflection of the merit of my ideas.
Is this a joke Ahahahahaha you're going to ignore all statistics and nation wide truths provided by US Bureau because of your street smarts. What did I just read
If someone feeds their children into someting as destructive as a never ending cycle of poverty, then yes, I consider that negliect/child abuse whatever you prefer to call it. Like you and multi were saying before, learning to be financially responsible and teaching your kids to do the same isnt difficult, but its necissary. Unfortunately it doenst always happen. I just want to add here that Primary and Secondary sources are complimentary. You cant have one without the other if you want to form a strong arguement. You can quote as many statistics as you want, but you will never be able to predict human nature.
That last sentence was probably the dumbest anything I've ever read. Statistics are an account of Human nature. Therefore, they are the by far and large the best way to predict Human nature. This isn't complicated.
I'm a teenager living with my parents because it's fiscally responsible and here are some random articles I found on the internet to prove that being poor is a choice unless you're already part of the white middle class.
Hi I'm a 23 year old who refuses to get a job because I think I'm too good for entry level jobs, so I just blame my poverty and homelessness as a result of laziness on race. I also like to play video games all day and post on forums about things I know nothing about.
Statistically Halo 5's multiplayer is well recieved. So stats mean jackshit since we've already determined that the game is objectively bad.
Statistics are shallow, half-truths. They don't tell the whole story. They don't explain the details/variables.
Statistics are nothing more than a compilation of individual cases. When the numbers you're looking at aren't specific enough, then you dig deeper. I just want to reiterate that you think anecdotal evidence is more valuable than statistical data. Quite possibly one of the dumbest and most self-defeating things I've ever read.
The statistics xandy and I are hard to misinterpret and come from quite literally the most reputable source possible. We made a claim that it's very easy to not be stuck in the bottom class your entire life. You ask for proof. We provide proof and statistics. You say statistics don't matter. You're both not even arguing anything in particular anymore you're literally arguing against the IDEA of statistics lmao do you realize how pathetic is
1st of all: no its not 2nd of all: you're comparing judging the quality of something based on statistics next to statistics that flat out show objective truths that go against peoples perception of something. Leaning on statistics for the quality of something is stupid. Leaning on statistics to understand if there's the ability to success and grow economically on a nationwide basis is the literal best way to go about it
It is though. The majority of critics have criticized Halo 5's single player and praised its multiplayer. That's a statistic.
