I know I've said I'll quit many times before but I think I actually believe myself this time. I'd like to step into Unreal Tournament map development in my free time as opposed to forge maps. If there's anyone here who'd like to contribute feel free. Maps require significantly more polish in that game because it's a full editor, which means 3d modeling and art and scripting and lighting passes blah blah. Too much work and time for little ol me. So if you're an artist or have any particular skills and would like to start dabbling in Unreal Tournament maps let me know. The new ut looks ****ing awesome from the sandbox to the art to the movement, I think I would enjoy it quite a bit more.
I'm already accustomed to most of Unreal's features, so why not? This should help my resumé quite a bit.
I've not had time to become familiar with UE yet though if you are comfortable with converting my files from unity, I'd love to contribute a design when I can. I've been really wanting to design for Toxikk which uses Unreal. Not sure if you've played that but I personally like it better than UT.
I've seen a lot of toxikk, looks amazing really. Biggest concern is that the game is on its way out, has like 10 people on at any time last I checked
I'll mostly have to stay within my bounds of blockout standards, I don't know enough for materials and such.
Well the unreal tournament editor gets easier to use every update it and forge aren't too far apart in difficulty
I really am near at a point where I would rather focus on things outside of forge for the time being, that's until the next game arrives. Yea, the level editor portion of UE4 is really easy and there a ton of resources out there to follow.
All I've got is a laptop. Would have to look into seeing if it's possible to change out the graphics card. I am kinda over Halo 5 forge and would love to expand my portfolio, so I'd love to be a part of this. Not sure what my strongest aspect of map-design is; probably art and theme creation.
I've recently been trying to surround myself with people who have a tight grasp on level/game design in pretty much every aspect. Kind of like a sort of apprentice type of thing but more on an observing level. I'd like to try to see what I could do in UT4, I've tried Radiant and the results were "interesting" to say the least (I'm learning). If there is a Discord or group chat for this I'd be sick if I could get in on this. Also Multi let's design a Zombies map lmao.
