Okay quick notes! First of all, go sign up for the arcanum 2v2 tourney! If anyone is confused on what's going on with this map; there's certain doors and pathways only the keyholder can take. Doors will open for him and close behind him. The keyholder gets 10 uses (which is labeled on their HUD how many they have left) and then the key breaks. The next use will teleport them to a dead end and the key will reset to the next position where it continually cycles between 3 spots just like the Bomb. If you kill the keyholder, the key resets. You can tell someone has the key because they glow orange and there are a trail of fireflies wherever they go. That's it, have fun! Thank you so damn much to everyone who helped! The scripters; Martian, Stinger, and Punch - thank you guys for the weeks and months you put into this! It means the world and the map wouldn't have been possible without you guys. Your gamertag has never been more appropriate than now. Love the Dreadnaught theme and wish the pendulums could swing a bit when you land on them but they still function fine as is. Its very rare to see these creative concept pieces fleshed out to such completion like this. Well done man!
Thats cool, I guess you have to load it up in custom game to get them to swing properly. My bad! Just watched the video too. I'm a huge Tool and Perfect Circle fan. Great music choice. Your maps always come with really high video production value, wish everyone could do these
I was saying the same thing! Maps with trailers, like ZOMG.. This was well put together Multi, great job on the map and hypeness that you brought to the map/gametype. I can't wait to wipe the floor with you in the tournament. BTW, I will be live streaming it .
Damn did I pick a bad time to start pushing out my old piles of junk. Theyre going to look twice as bad now! Great looking map and Great post. Is there a prefab or anything for the key mechanic? Might try my hand at a design in the future.
This map is fantastic in every way possible. After running around on it I do have some small things however that I think would improve the map. This ledge here has a much higher clamber ledge on the side I am facing then what what it seems to be. Yes you can clamber on it currently, but you have to crouch jump unless you're going for the corner. You can walk on this!?!?! I am fine with being able to walk on this, however I didn't realize you could walk on this until I loaded it up in forge and saw that there was an invisible blocker over it. Maybe make it so its easier to tell you can walk on it? Seeing as you can walk through the vines normally, I do not think people are going to just take the chance to walk on it during a game. Should probably somehow make this more obvious to walk on. And the only other thing that I think would be nice to have is to include projection blockers on the stairs all around the map, so you can bounce grenades up stairs. This would also help with the grenade launcher. I found it rather annoying being restricted to shooting it off walls rather then the floor when stairs were present. All in all very minor things. This map is gorgeous.
Don't know how I'd solve the vine problem, seems like something people just have to figure out the first time and they're good to go. As for everything else I hear you. I freed up another 40 objects or so, so I'm down to go projectile block everything thank you for all the kind words
You could prob solve the vine problem by simply placing some magnum ammo laying in the middle of it. that would be an instant visual clue that you can walk there.
Damn fine work man. Probably your best looking map you've made. Feels very dark and mystical, almost a Diablo 2 vibe if you've ever played that. The key concept is awesome too. Keep it up man.
