I'm personally expecting them to double down on the bullshit. I doubt Halo will ever have health or fall damage again, so I'm not getting my hopes up there. I'd at least like the game more than Halo 5 if it had double jump and a decent weapon sandbox. The reason I like health and fall damage is because it lets you create risk vs reward situations. Verticality also becomes more of a tradeoff and you aren't forced to put deathpits everywhere to balance them. People also can't just ground pound off of the smallest ledge for a stupidly easy kill. Double jump makes combat a little less predictable so it'll probably mess with the cadence of Halo gameplay as we know it - not that anything they've added since the original hasn't already done that though. I'm more interested in what it'll do for level design, especially in place of clamber. If they want to keep clamber, it should be nerfed and more punishing for missing your jump.

I would like to comment on the lost cause of creating a gametype to counter issues people have with movement and abilities in Halo 5. I know a lot of peoples frustration can be remedied by including a gametype. I'm also aware that the reason most forgers won't bother to create a slayer map with a modified gametype in mind, is because they know that most people won't bother to download the accompanying gametype. We can't change what direction 343 decides to take Halo 6, but if we could convince them to add a small feature to customs, maybe we get the opportunity to better communicate our creations to the community. The feature I'm talking about is the ability to breach the current divide that is map and gametype. Allow Forgers to create their map with the custom gametype built in. (gametype = map default) Users should still be able to play any map however they want, but maps should come with it's intended gametype built in and preset. I'm not saying to remove custom gametype sharing, though it will likely become less common. The new norm will end up as a console side action since in this environment custom gametypes will be added to the systems pool every time you get a map with a custom gametype. Gametype!!!

All this talk on creating a theme that inspires gameplay reminds me of this map I started a while back. its currently unfinished, and most likely will stay that way seeing that nobody plays this game anymore lol Anyways here are the screenshots, made for 1v1 or 2v2 slayer: the lighting is way off on the last one because I never finished putting a roof on it, so a bunch of natural lighting is coming in. Idealy it would look similar to the image above in terms of color.

I posted gameplay above, and said its a tree farm in the middle of the desert EDIT: also it's a remake/remix of the Unearthed firefight map from Reach. Obviously can't name it that because there is already a BTB map in matchmaking named Unearthed haha.
